IGN has posted ten reasons why single-system gamers might want to wait around for the Nintendo Revolution:
* 10) Limited Funds and Quantities
* 9) Same Games, Prettier Graphics
* 8) 360 Doesn’t Have Legend of Zelda
* 7) Girls and Grandpas Will Play Revolution
* 6) Metroid Prime 3
* 5) Revolution Will Be a Lot Cheaper
* 4) True Backward Compatibility
* 3) Revolution is Small, Stylish, and Quiet
* 2) Super Smash Bros. Online
* 1) The Controller Will Change Everything
Grandpa's play my Sony PS2 too

While some of the points are valid, I think that every system will offer something new so it's worth getting ALL of the systems. The only points that I won't consider valid in that list is the 3 games it mentioned, because the 360 will have exclusive games too and the "Girls and Grandpas will play Revolution" because that's just a poor excuse, especially when games like Kameo and others are being made and Microsoft seems adamant to deliver a system for EVERYONE.
Don't get me wrong, I'm just as excited about the Rev as I was when the 360 was going to be released, I just think every console will deliver in it's own special way.

you got that from IGN XD... and its better if you read the full article... not just the titles of each part XD

they made an article like that for each system... but of course, I like the Rev's the best XD

I'll probably try get Revolution on the day of release where as I won't be getting PS3 straight away. But I'm gonna get PS3 first, just a few months after its released in the UK.

I think there was an article that said the NR might come out about the same time as the PS3. So then which would you get? I would get the NR..

I'm pretty certain that the Nintendo Revolution will be the first console I have ever preorder! ^_~
And seeing as both PS3 and Rev release dates are unclear... We may see the Rev before PS3... lol
I'm sure I'll eventually get PS3... but not till I see a MUST have game on it, that interestes me... XD As of now, more Nintendo games grab my interest than Playstation games... XD

I am confused no games have been even announced yet so how can you be more hyped for the rev

Actually, several games are already known to be in development for Revolution already:
Many games featuring Nintendo's classic franchises, such as Mario, The Legend of Zelda, Animal Crossing, Metroid, Super Smash Brothers, Pokémon, and Donkey Kong, have been announced. Nintendo has also announced that it is in the process of developing an entirely new and original franchise to be added into the Nintendo universe, although all other details about this project are unknown at this time. It has been speculated that the new franchise might be more mature than most previous Nintendo games. Square Enix is working on a sequel Crystal Chronicles title, Ubisoft is releasing Splinter Cell 4 on all major consoles including Revolution, and has announced an exclusive FPS and an another non exclusive game. The exclusive title is being coined off as a 'Doom' clone. Blitz has announced that Possession will come to all three next-gen consoles. Koei and Namco/Bandai (merging) have made announcements that they will make games for Revolution but not what games yet. Also, Camelot has announced that they are currently working on a Revolution RPG. Some rumors say that this may very well be the third Golden Sun game. Killer 7 producer Goichi Suda, aka Suda 51, has confirmed that Grasshopper Manufacture is planning to make a Revolution game. [20] According to Game Informer, Hideo Kojima is developing a Revolution game with the team from Kojima Productions that developed Metal Gear Acid.

I think Nintendo's next-gen console may be the sleeper system. With so much hype surrounding the XBOX360 and Playstation, Nintendo has the privilege of lurking in the shadows. It could, therefore, be waiting for the perfect oppurtunity to leap out and bite the e-behinds of these other two giants.
I have done little research on the Revolution, but with the more 'girl and grandpa' friendly titles, it'll be the main reason I'll be buying one for my girlfriend. So she can leave me alone when I'm playing GT5, on the PS3.
You know, in all their brightly coloured simplicity, Nintendo games still rank as the funnest to play in my mind.

Hey, man, I know some girls that love to play Grand theft Auto, I have a friend, and she's crazy about GTA: San Andreas, and True Crime, LA streets!
here is the number 1 reason not to get the revolution.
that dumb looking controller.
i was really thinking about geting the revolution.
but after seeing that conrtoller.
nintendo lost another buyer.
plus they will have just kid games agian and no 3 party support
like with the game cube.
the only thing that keept the cube alive was nintendos frist party games,

Well they said you can play ever game Nintendo has ever made so hmm guess u can be hyped about that. Also theres a brand no style of controller to be hyped about plus free online for the first time for Nintendo well as long as u dont include the GC online thingy. Hope i'll be able to afford a Rev sometime in the future but my eyes are firmly fixed on owning a Ps3 asap. :)

Since the PS3 and the Rev are coming out right about the same time me and my g/f are moving in together, you better believe I'm getting both systems. I'm not a big fan of the controller, but, I can get used to it. Besides ZELDA RULES!
The Chocobo Kid

I'll buy it when it's really cheap like 100 bucks cheap. I don't plan to be in a rush to get it. they are yet to show games here.

* 1) The Controller Will Change Everything
I am sick of hearing about the controller.
Nintendo made a gamble with the controller. It is unique, and may help support the name "Nintendo Revolution." However, nobody has ever tried the controller. Nobody - whether from IGN, Gamespot, etc. - knows how the controller is. It may be a success, however, it may be a flop.
Until we found out more, I don't want to hear about it. I am truly surprised IGN would state a comment such as the one listed above.
Also:
360 Doesn’t Have Legend of Zelda
Using the same argument, I can say that the Nintendo Revolution doesn't have Halo: Combat Evolved or Halo 2. Sacrificing some games for other games needs to be overlooked.

I have to agree about that control, to me right now looks pretty dumb. All this top 10 reasons didnt make me want get NR. They should have one reason
1) NR going have Adults game
then I will concern it
I don't agree with the points that talk about Zelda, Super Smash Brothers and Metroid. There was a reason I didn't get a GC. I just don't ejnoy those games. However, the controller, the small size and the low retail price is defintly good.
Mr. Solanky
12-30-2005, 14:30
Yes, it depends if you enjoy the games or not. If you hate Mario, Zelda, and Metroid, and all the other Nintendo goodies, then a revolution will be a waste of time. Of course, they'll be the Suda 51 dude developing for it, and that other campany making 2 games for it, but that's honestly not enough, if you just don't like Nintendo.

I would get the Revolution even if it has bad games because it has the ability to play all of Nintendo's games since Nes with possibly better graphics. :D
I'm not to sure about the controller though... :?
Mr. Solanky
12-30-2005, 16:25
I actually tried making a fake Revolution controller. I took my old remote, and found my N64 Controller that didn't work, and cut of the handle that had the Analog stick.
then I cut a string and tied it on the remote control. It felt really weird, I pretended to be playing onimusha, and it makes you feel like you have to move with it, when you don't.
I would get the Revolution even if it has bad games because it has the ability to play all of Nintendo's games since Nes with possibly better graphics.
Maybe N64 and GC, but not SNES and NES. They use sprites.
The only negative thing I have to say about the Revolution will be swinging around and moving my arm all about the place. It eliminates a favourite passtime of mine where I snuggle up in bed at 2AM, and play the Playstation with the controller under my blanket. 8)

I was afraid too, what happen if I am so tired today and I have to play hide-and-seek on all FPS game........
Mr. Solanky
12-30-2005, 22:43
Yes, I know. I would get rather tired from waving my arms like crazy. But all the gaming head honchos who got to use the controller said that all it took was a flick of the wrist, and nothing more.

Are they going to talk Nintendo Revolution at CES or is Nintendo waiting for E3 2006?
Mr. Solanky
12-31-2005, 18:48
I am pretty sure that they are waiting until E3 2006. I think one of their executives was talking about something like that. Whatever, I just happy Nintendo has a system this year. With the results of the GameCube, I thought it would be their last system.

Wrong...at TGS journo's and select people got to try it out. IGN's Matt has tried it out for crying out loud.
It is a gamble on Nintendo's part and we'll have to see how it goes.
Since the revo is said to be that cheap, I find these to be reasons to ALSO buy the Revolution :P
Mr. Solanky
01-03-2006, 22:42
Yea, these are reasons to ALSO buy the Revolution, because I'm not sure if I could use it just as my Main gaming console. Maybe with the Playstation, but not the Rev. I need to see some games, and make sure they aren't just Mario milks.

what do you mean with Mario milks? It's also in your sig, what do you mean?

I believe you've noticed the very high amount of Mario remakes and spinoffs right? That's what he means, that they're milking Mario.

@bosbeest
In other words Nintendo is trying to make as much money out of Mario’s popularity as they possible can.
