View Full Version : Possible Gran Turismo killer
It's called Juiced and lets just say it looks and reads to be a pretty sweet game. It'll problly look and play quite the same as GT if they pull it off but either way it could almost split the sales between the two.

Let me know what you guy's think. If this game turns out as well as the developers seem to think it will then Im going to be in a tough situation choosing between GT4 and Juiced.

On Second Thought... Is PS3 late or is 360 early?
We were all expecting CES to be a metaphorical explosion of PlayStation 3 information. Hands-on demos, finalized hardware specs, a big fat price tag, and the unveiling of a non-Spider-Man font and a non-comes-back-when-you-throw-it controller. Since the PS3 is supposed to be available this Spring (March estimated), this would be the last chance to prepare retailers and insiders for the next generation of PlayStation.
Whoops, none of that happened. If you'll remember, a few weeks ago some analysts predicted that the PlayStation 3 wouldn't come out this Spring; it wouldn't come out this Spring at all! The number-crunchers say that a 2007 release is more likely; and now, it's almost confirmed.
At this point, it would be impossible to release the PS3 before May. Something like that needs to be hyped, and retailers need to know what they're dealing with. The brief peak we got at E3 2005 just wasn't enough; it's just not commercially or economically viable. Now, the next chance Sony has to show off the final version of their new wonder-system will be this year's E3. That means that the PS3 probably won't be releasing until this Christmas, if this year at all.
Honestly, I'm not that disappointed. There's nothing worse than rushing a system just to beat or match the competition. Microsoft had to do a bit of it to get the Xbox 360 out before the PlayStation 3 comes out in Spri... oh wait.
Maybe Sony duped Microsoft. By insinuating that the PlayStation 3 would be out this March, they had to put Xbox 360 development on overdrive to beat it. But now, with the Xbox 360 being perhaps a year or more ahead of the PlayStation 3, it may have made a Dreamcast of itself on accident.
Opinions vary, but the wide consensus regarding the Dreamcast's doom is that SEGA put it out too soon, around a year before the PlayStation 2 and Xbox -- so by the time the current generation had finally sunk in, the Dreamcast was already old news and old technology.
And now, the Xbox 360 is out and about, using technologies that are impressive now but by the time the PlayStation 3 is out, DVDs will be outmoded and cell processors will roam the land. Sony will have months and months to perfect the system, get better prices on the hardware, and allow game developers to create killer launch titles without compromises; meanwhile, Microsoft is already announcing plans to create external HD-DVD drives for the 360 and creating newer versions with more features. There's nothing better than getting in a fist-fight at a Wal-Mart to get a game system, only to hear the makers planning to out-mode it as soon as possible. It really creates brand loyalty.
Whether intentional or not, Sony delaying the PS3 might just assure their superiority in the console market. They'll have a more carefully developed system, and when they finally come out, the Xbox 360 will be yesterday's news. There won't be any more talk about toning down multi-console games to accommodate the PlayStation's outdated hardware.
If Sony can hit that bull's-eye, the rest of the dominoes will fall like a house of cards. Checkmate.

i dont like that article. it greats a really bad impression with no good reason.
such as:
this would be the last chance to prepare retailers and insiders for the next generation of PlayStation.
Not really - PS2 was launched in Japan only 20 days after they unveiled playable demos
The number-crunchers say that a 2007 release is more likely; and now, it's almost confirmed.
"Almots confirmed" - what the hell???
The rest of it just seems like waffle. just my opinion anyway.
Just because it was posted 35minuets ago doesn't mean its new. I could post an article about "Xbox360 launches in Japan and sales are poor" today and it would show that it was posted 35min ago....that doesn't mean that its new news.

its an OPINION article
It's an interesting article, but one that lacks serious substance. Worth looking at but at this stage, not worth following up I feel.
I like the idea of it, because there certainly is the notion that the next-generation of consoles is coming too early, but the article offers little more than speculation at this point.
