What do you expect in the next firmware update?

I use a bluetooth keyb and mouse with my ps3 all the time. What makes you think its not supported?

Support for more movie codec's
Ability to read files from local network (not just uPNP server). Red Kawa, Tversity and other tools almost work, but there is always something not quite right...

I don't think you would be forced to use a wallpaper. I imagine you could stick with the default background. I probably would although I'd like to be able to just choose the color.



As for everyone else, I don't think this was meant to be ANOTHER wishlist thread. We all know what everybody wants. It's the same **** everyone has wanted for a while. This thread is about what you EXPECT in the NEXT firmware update.

I think there will be support for EyeCreate and the HD camera. It'll be out before the next firmware so that's probably what we're looking at. Also maybe the ability to stream more video than just MPeg-2 files.

Yeah, that would be sweet, not to mention the business partnering with Google and Sony.One of the things I would like to see the most, is customized backgrounds. It would be sweet if they Sony had a building program just like Google sketchup.

OK, first of all..

1) they already have bluetooth keyboard and mouse support.
Settings -> Accessory Settings -> Register Bluetooth Device -> Register Keyboard/Mouse

2) they already do have Flash support enabled, but it's flash 7 and not flash 8 - so it's a mixed bag on which sites support it and which ones don't. I know youtube/collegehumor both work, but some others I've tried don't.

Personally, I'm a religious music lover. Having the ability to play music within games -- especially the XMB (so we can get back with messages, change the songs) -- that is what I'm waiting for the most.

A TON of people are asking for XMB in-game access so I would expect Sony to put that it before Christmas. But seriously, when is the next firmware update?
