Recently I went into my local gamestop/EB and after my trade in was asked what I wanted. I replied with "Do you have a PS3?/ Could you recommend me a good game." The guy responded with "Oh you don't want one of those they are soo horrible and they suck, buy an Xbox."
My question is, why do these employee's put so much infuses on trying to sell people an Xbox but say that PS3 is trash. Is it in their nature to say they suck and try not to sell them or am I just being critical, in that it was just the guy. Honestly I never remember trading in stuff when I was younger and being pointed to not buy a system that would indeed make more money for said company.

that was just his opinion not ebgames or gamestop.. if u want a good game to buy on ps3 just goto the games section of these forums

Yeah, but if that was just one random guys opinion... why is it I've ran into the same bias at every ebgames or gamestop I've ever been to?

i am not sure.. im sure that its not a requirement to hate ps3 and love xbox to get a job there.

You had it coming you asked. I got that without asking and I reported it to the district manager and now they wanna give me Heavenly Sword for half price.
I recommend going to Circuit City, they aren't D-bags and will actually give you pro's and con's on everything rather than ranting about a system that their wages won't even afford them to buy.

Last time I was in gamestop the kid at the counter saw me buying NCAA 08 for the PS3 and we started talking about how great it is. Gamestop doesn't hire people who are specifically biased however they don't care if you are which is stupid for a store that makes its money off of all kinds of games, but it does go both ways.
It's weird why a employee should act like this,but just skip there talk,and ask here or rent this game,and then decide if this game is good or not,but the games we discuss here is almost the best ones you can get,so try to ask someone here mate:)

My ebgames here in salem oregon isn't biast at all, they seemed very excited about upcoming releases for the PS3, infact the store manager is a proud PS3 owner........
My response would be "Well ok if you do not want my ****ing money!"
And then storm out the door

There should be an official EBgames/Gamestop complaining thread in here.
Before my gamestop used to be SOOOO Biased.. I swear I go in there to buy one thing, and return empty handed becuz of them..
But thank god they got fired or quit or something because I don't see them anymore. Now I only see people who are unbiased, or actually like both/all consoles and are excited/help you out with the game you want.
most of the game store's bash the PS3 because they are stooges.
the guys in the game stop are ok they like both consoles but ther are a few

lol what a tool. You should be own all 3 systems as a requirement to work at Gamestop to weed out fanboys. Then again if you are rich enough to own all 3 you probably don't need to work there.

Everytime I hit up the EB games around where I was staying before, the folks working their were totally biased when it came to the PS3. And they were always just the biggest dorks ever, total tools. Know what you want when you go in their so you don't open the door for dem fools, and when they try to shoot the PS3 down, just say....."Ha, I know what's good, and it's not that garbage 360."

My GS told me I couldn't pre-order FF XIII because it didn't have a platform announced yet. I looked at the guy behind the counter like he was a retard for a good 15 seconds, until I realized that he actually believed the inane dribble he was spewing forth from his face hole. Next time you meet one of these people, just say "Do your job, register jockey..." and be on your way.

I haven't shopped in EB/Gamestop for a long time because of their attitude toward the PS3. The other day I went in there only to buy MGS2 because I wanted it immediatlely. So I got to talking about MG with them and I mentioned how good MGS4 looks. They agreed but said that game is the only reason they would buy a PS3. Then I gave them a look like I was about to bang their heads together and they refrained from saying anything esle bad about the PS3.
When I used to shop there they would send me a customer survey and I would trash them every time for talking smack about the PS3 while I was there.
So I have my MGS2 for twelve bucks, boycott is back on.

that's just one guy's opinion. just because he works at gamestop doesn't mean you have to listen to them.
Yea thats gamestop for you. Seems to be happening more and more. I stopped shopping there awhile back; join the club. :)

When i shop at eb games they never say anything bad about the ps3.They always ask if i want to preorder ps3 games.They love the ps3 and they love to talk about it.

Yep there is,but i think that gamestop/ebgames are good places imo.Thats the only places i go to buy games.
wow that sucks for you the people at my local gs at least on sundays are awsome after the local flea market we go over there and chill and have dominoes deliver to the store and we just talk with the dude there and we face him in madden and he is pretty funny... just last sunday we got there and the second we walked in i started laughing because the 360 was you guessed it BROKEN and had the red ring and whatever... it was there 6th 360... but they should really get the ps3 more ventallation, it is on its third fan stage almost all the time but it still hasn't broken so far

yess another one of these threads!!! ALL GS/EB GAMES EMPLOYEES ARE BIASED!! well except for me and the people in my store..we're rabid sony fans... we're biased we didn't fix our xb360 yet.. well no one came to fix it.. and well it speaks for its self!!! So if your ever in my area and would love to come to a eb/gs where everything pretty much backwards from what your used to.. COME ON DOOOOWN!!!!
no but seriously its usually on the people that work there. everyone tends to just push what they like on you.. and most of the employees are really uninformed on whats really what.. it sucks it makes more and more of these threads pop up and makes all of us look like idiots.... but what can you do!!! sure im more pro sony but i wouldn't talk someone up and down to jump ship.. by what you want and play D@mnit!!!

I don't go to EB's anymore for a few of the reasons here. I never figured out they were biased one way or the other because I never game them time. They always seem rude or walk around like they have a giant attitude issue, very unprofessional imo. Matter of fact the last time I was in an EB's was at the local mall, just checking some games out. I was actually planning on purchasing one of three choices when the guy comes up and says "dude you've got five minutes and we close, so make your choice". Sounds kinda innocent but he said it with a major attitude problem like he was trying to be an *******. I looked at him a few seconds, put the game back down, and told him I didn't need one and walked out.
He coulda seriously made a sale in that five minutes had he not been rude. W/E.

because at the moment you can get a 360 for almost half the price, and have 4x as many games. The ps3 has 3 games WORTH playing that the 360 doesnt have. And until Socom/uncharted/warhawk come out, you are buying a space heater for 500-600 dollars
Why does this happen to people, when I was buying my PS3 at Gamestop the employee was actually saying the advantages of the PS3, I was not planing on buying a 360 or Wii anyway but it made me more comfident of my choice

I work at Game Crazy... All the GAMESTOP's in my area are RABID 360 fanboys... diss the PS3 constantly.. we have 3 new employees at my gamecrazy that came from gamestop. all really cool people but 2 of the 3 are 360 fanboys while the third is an avid PS3 fan.
Matt... My new manager that worked at GS said that they are told to push the 360 harder than the PS3 bc they have a lot more chances on buying games for the 360 since there are so many more available.. Made a LITTLE sense but not enough to justify the dissing they do on the PS3.
Every time I talk to a 360 fanboy and they say some stupid fact I give them the simple.. "You are joking right?"... I guess it is the tone that makes them shut up and go.. "...well... I'll have a PS3 eventually it just doesn't have any games right now."
This leads me to believe that most of them have no clue what they are talking about when it comes to system choice. They point out flaws i'll point out flaws of the 360. In the end I feel they are more educated in the ways of the Video Game world.

Fist mistake is asking them to recommend a good game. Second mistake was not informing them if you wanted a 360 you would have asked for one. Third mistake was not asking again if they had a PS3 in...
