edit- oh nvm :(
pc version out? im gonna go pick it up now!
No not yet...demo coming later this month :(
But if my PC can run Bioshock efficiently, I might pick it up for my PC...
If not, then I might wait a bit longer for the 65nm chipset 360s!
I just wanna play this effing thing already! Aaahhhh
EDIT: Mod support is HUGE for me though! So I'm praying that my PC can run it at a decent framerate in 1280x1024 res!

WHAT ABOUT A BIOSHOCK PC DEMO?
August 13, 2007
After the appearance of the BioShock Demo on Xbox 360™ last night, I’m sure many of you PC fans wondered, “What about us?”
Here’s the deal.
A BioShock PC Demo IS coming. We tried as hard as humanly possible to get it out to you guys simultaneously with the 360 demo, but we needed to make sure that it was perfect -- that all drivers were ready, and that the game looked great on a huge variety of computers.
Currently, the PC demo in its final stages of testing and approval. We are pushing to get it out to you as soon as possible. It will be out during the month of August, and everyone is working at full capacity to deliver it to you before the game hits store shelves on August 21st. I will also let you know as soon as I have an exact date for the demo's release, so please stay tuned.
I cannot express enough how sorry I am for the wait. Thank you for understanding and your patience. Just remember -- only eight days left till you get your hands on the full game.
I’ll let you know where to get the demo as soon as it becomes available.

I will get Bioshock for the 360 but I am curious if my PC can handle the game.
AMD Athlon64 3500+
1 GB RAM PC3200
Radeon X1800XT 512MB
My guess is yeah, at 1024*768 mid details no AA no AF.
Guys, knowing what the mod community has done for other games, this game will own on the PC and give it way more life than on the 360 and when it comes out for the PS3.
I think this game will pull a Gears. Initially the best on the 360, but way more side quests and things to do on the PC. Just wait 6 months and see what kinds of awesome mods this game will have.

I will try the demo on my pc. It can run it but definetly not at full so I still will stick with 360.

amd64 3200+ oc'ed to 2.4ghz
1gig ram
8800gts 320mb
Well, I'm gonna try the pc version just to compare it to the 360 one. I guess I'll get close in quality but have a worser framerate because of my cpu.

Oh no I wonder if my PC will run it.
C2D E6700 3.0Ghz
2GB RAM 800mhz 4-4-4-12
8800GTX
Only joking, might even do better than the 360 version...either way the mods will make up for it

^haha that was funny...
I think with something like that, you'll definatly outpace the 360 version...
I'm building a new PC for a few games I want, but I cant buy a 8800GTX, and I don't know if a 8800GTS is a big enough improvement over a xfx 8600GTS XXX to be worth it? What do you think... I'm in the middle, if its worth the cash, sure, but if not, I'll wait... But I might wait some extra time for a PCIe2 board... Should be out this year. I hope.

That's what you'll need to run this game.
And a quote from the offical forums.....
Guys, the PC demo is simply not ready. The pc development was always a bit behind because we had more time to finish things (no submission to MS). The PC game will therefore have a bit more polish (and a couple more features like turning off loot highlight options) that 360 doesn't have.
It'll be out as soon as possible.

Hopefully I can max this out. I meet the specs, but my comp usually seems to run slower than it should.
I cant wait for this game though. Downloading the demo is going to be tough because everyone is going to be downloading at once :(

Is it just me or does that say "Use Xbox 360 controller lol or off"?
Anyway if I had a decent comp I would defintely downloadload it (this game looks flipping cool) but my current comp is s*** (P4 2.8 GHz + GeForce 6200)
Is it just me or does that say "Use Xbox 360 controller lol or off"?
Lmao! I just noticed that now. I thought it said On or Off but just didn't pay enough attention.

Bioshock for the PC will rule, simply because its on the PC. That's all I have to say right now.

After drooling all over the controller while playing the demo yesterday, I defiantly have to pick this up, I haven't played anything like this since Shadow Of Colossus, it was the best demo I ever played. I can't wait until I get my new rig this September.
my specs are going to be.
AMD64 X2- 5200+
2GB Kingston 667 RAM
XFX 8800GTS 320MB.
I hope I can run it as good looking as the 360 version, if not better with higher res, I am defiantly excited about MOD support, mouse and keyboard plus $10 cheaper.

It's been way too long since I've played an awesome game on PC. Hopefully it lives up to the hype!!

will this game support quad cores?
Appolyons

Careful when you say "support". Games like Alen Wake with the tornados and such will work better with quad cores because of multi-functioning abilities but it's not like a core 2 duo wont run it well also. When you say "support" I think more like Agea PhysX card.

Sorry, what I meant by support is will there be an advantage in performance with more cores in Bioshock?

Why didn't it come out at the same time..? I hope it only didn't because they are adding more content, Bioshock was the shortest demo I've ever played, and at 1.3 GB too!?

I'm sure and I allllllllmost wanna say I saw a review where they actually said that. Best advice I could give you, go to www.youtube.com (http://www.youtube.com) and check it out there...watch the different trailers/reviews...maybe you'll turn something up. Either way though, quad core would be the way to go.
