Hi,

I'm sorry if I am posting this in the wrong forum but I have a question. I bought this component video cable Here (http://http://www.circuitcity.com/rpsm/oid/44268/originURLEncoded/http%253A%252F%252Fwww.circuitcity.com%252Frpsm%25 2FcatOid%252F-13863%252FN%252F20012841%252B20013861%252B20013863 %252B1113%252Flink%252Fref%252Frpem%252Fccd%252Fca tegorylist.do/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do#tabs) and I am trying to connect it to my new TV which is this. (http://http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=6938905&type=product&productCategoryId=pcmcat31800050031&id=1097582050451)

I can't seem to do it even though it says that my TV has Component Video Inputs.
This is the back of it:

I have no idea what to do, even their little guide on the Monster website, here (http://http://www.monstercable.com/hookup_learning/game_hookup/images/PS2_hookup.gif), does not help.

Van anyone please help me? Thanks.

yea it does for some reason :)

anyways back to the topic

the component cable should be connected to the red/green/blue socket on yer TV
in your case the inputs labeled "Color Stream HD-1" or "Color Stream HD-2"

I know, I did that. For some reason when I go to HD1 and HD2 from my remote nothing shows up. Wtf?

try checking your PS2's System Configuration... and then check the "Component Video Out" try switching it to Y Cb/Pb Cr/Pr

thats the only thing i could think of as i dont have a TV with component input.. yet :)

You need to convince me to get a PS3.

At the moment I'm thinking of getting my American mate to get me an 80 gig NTSC PS3 when he next goes back to the States. I'm aware that PS1/2 B/C is region locked, but I have a working PS2 anyway I guess. Also, the American PS3 will only cost me £250 rather then £OMG for 40 gig PAL.

So what games am I getting this console for? I do plan to play through the MGS games (have been for over a year now), so obviously MGS4. Also, MotorStorm has always had my eye, and so has Warhawk. Does PS3 Rock Band have wireless controllers? Because with Rock Band it's a case of £80 in US, and £140-180 here, although not sure he'll be able to carry that through customs. Also, I'm not avert to getting any PSN games, especially if they're echochrome good, and if theres any notable non-EU PS2 games out there as well, that would also be a plus.

So, I leave it in your capable hands to persuade me into purchasing a PS3

Alright, here's the run-down on the games you mentioned (in my opinion)...

MotorStorm - Fucking brilliant. When it came out it didn't have enough tracks and such, but they still nailed the graphics/gameplay/fun factor. Now with DLC, it's honestly one of the best racers I've ever played.

Rock Band - Awesome-sauce ( ). The Guitar is wireless, the drums and mic are not. IMO, drums are the best.

MGS4 - Don't have it yet but I'm sure it's amazing.

Echochrome - Love it.

Warhawk - I loved it when it came out, but I slowed down after a month or so and entirely stopped playing once I bought Call of Duty 4. I was in the beta though so technically I played it for a solid two months.

Then there's all the future stuff like LBP, R2, KZ2, GT5 (proper) and so on. If you're getting it for £250, it's worth it. Plus you'll get to play me online  .

Metal Gear Solid 4 is definitely worth buying a PS3 for alone -- after playing through it all weekend, there's no doubt in my mind on that.

Read my review if you want mate, Eric seemed to find it convincing of the score I awarded it.
