View Full Version : Nuclear Struggle?
Did you kiss your mom this morning? No? You'll regret it... Did you walk your dog last night? No? You'll regret it... Did you visit CNN and read this (http://www.cnn.com/2005/WORLD/asiapcf/02/10/nkorea.talks/index.html) article? No? You'll regret it...
[spoiler:f9100277a7]North Korea has said, "we have the bomb." Now it is time for a nuclear stuggle between two opposite ends of the world; I bet the U.S. doesn't care much for Iraq now...
Earlier this month, Bush and South Korean President Roh Moo-hyun agreed to push for an early resumption of the six-nation talks.
But Pyongyang said Bush's call for the spread of freedom in his inaugural speech was a diabolical scheme to turn the world into "a sea of war flames."
"In his inauguration speech, Bush trumpeted that 'fire of freedom will reach dark corners of the world.' This is nothing but a plot to engulf the whole world in a sea of war flames and rule it by imposing a freedom based on power," North Korea's state-run Pyongyang Radio said this month. Breaking in the spoiler tags, are we? We've always had problems with N. Korea, and this doesn't make it any better. This doesn't mean the world is coming to an end, it's just adding to the billions of things to worry about in the world.

Yeah, thought I'd make my comeback with a "boom," anyways, does anyonje actually belive N. Korea has the resources for a World War? If they do, you can all bet this is WWIII. I'm just happy I'm French.

Kim Jong-il is a crazy nutcase. I don't trust him one bit. And when he dies, we have his son to worry about. :? He just needs to die by way of spontaneous human combustion.

Now, now, let's not wish anyone death... exept for the crazy red neck that rules the U.S., and thinks he can talk to God.

I'm not "bashing" the United States, I'm "bashing" its incompetent Commander-in-Chief. I hold no grudge towards any U.S. citizens, I have a grudge towards America's political system and their overall way of thinking.
I am not one of those people that "bahses" countries for no reason, but that fact the the U.S. uses God's name for everything is quite bothersome, "God bless America"... Why can't God bless anyone else? Isn't it apparant that God has blessed America? America is a super-power; one that is unmatched in terms of military strength.
Why has America countinually lagged in terms of technological advancement for the last 20 years? Why does 78% of everything sold there have a sticker with the words "Made in China" imprinted on it? Why has Mr. Bush spent $155 billion fighting a war that was won in two weeks? Tell me, because I don't know. :)

Why has the US lagged the last 20 years? Because anything worth developing we have not released to the general public.... for instance... besides the joint strike... the last plane to be developled and build was the B52, and the stealth... both use 1980's technology.... its not that the US has not done anything... it is just we keep it for ourselves... just like the F-16s we sell other countries... they are dummed down versions of what we have... thus why we are still the only superpower... never show your hand untill you have to.... and I wont even go into France and the government

No gays can marry? this is sounding a bit to much like segregation; in the 1960s-1970s no blacks could marry white males, is this not the same? Why can't men merry men or vice versa?

John Kerry is against gay marriage as well. But his plan was to give gay couples special privileges. And homosexuality isn't quite the same thing as race. It's a heavily debated aspect of human sexuality. I'm not going to touch that one, because I feel that everyone is equal. I don't want this to sway from the main topic at hand. This country's constitution was founded by many religious ideas, one being that marriage should be between a man and a woman. The law doesn't say that gay couples can't be together, it just doesn't allow them to change the man-woman view of things. However, the separation of church-and-state is continuously growing each day, sometimes with ridiculous proportions. I really don't know how this country will view that sort of thing 20 years down the line. It's really none of my business what people do or how they feel towards another human being, and nobody has the right to judge.
Bush is definitely a strange one, but if John Kerry had been elected, I would feel a LOT less comfortable than I am now. His indecisiveness isn't a good thing. He changes his views on things at the blink of an eye.
Oh and uh...North Korea sucks! ;)

I am not saying that Kerry would have been any better; the guy's a hippie. I am saying that the American political system is in need of revision. It has remained virtually uncahnged for nearly two centuries, it is time for change. The way America rushed to war was wrong; the way the U.S. is still in Iraq when there are more severe national issues such as health care; the way people are stripped of their constitutional rights each and every day. The way America works is too different from the rest of the world. Maybe if the U.S. was not the isolated country that it is, it would be doing much better. Social Security going bankrupt? What will senior citizens do? Starve? No, the United States of America is not a 3rd world country, it is of high class.
The political system in America is in dire need of reform; this Republican/Democrat thing has gone on long enough. Weather it be Kerry, Bush, or Nader, someone has to "take America back to work and allow it live up to its incredible potential as a country." What happened to freedom? Democracy? The Constitution? Why has America shrunk in terms of power in the last four years? Don't say 9-11; it was all one overly planned deception.
Good posting Techi, you have earned my respect (what ever thats worth) and to get back on the war topic Bush says that he does everything possible for his soldiers yet he lowered there pay, he went against giving veterans free drugs. IMO Bush's way of running the goverment is to keep the rich people happy and screw the poor, do you see bush doing much to help fix up the poor areas? not really, but do you see him going out of his way to keep the rich people happy? yes. If a country didn't help support Bush with his war he went and completely ignored them(Canada for example) IMO bush puts himself and his money before his country, I don't personally think kerry could of done any better, but like Trichi said some one has to fix up America doesnt matter who it is.

Anyways, back to the Nuclear Struggle topic.
What if this ignites into one of the biggest nuclear conflicts since the Cold War? Will this become bad enough that U.S. children will be tought how to hide under desks. .

"Within every revolution holds the seed to its own destruction" - Err, not word by word, but that's basically what I remember of that famous quote. Put simply, no matter how advanced or great one system will seem, it will sooner or later fall apart due to flaws within itself.

Not 24 hours, but close enough ;).
No gays can marry? this is sounding a bit to much like segregation; in the 1960s-1970s no blacks could marry white males, is this not the same? Why can't men merry men or vice versa? Well, to be frank, these are two different things. With no regard to religion, the point of "marriage" is usually mating/procreating. Same sex marriage would not make that possible -- I'm talking naturally, not artificially. Religion is a fragile topic, so I won't get into it. However, from what I remember, the Bible says "do not indulge in homosexuality" (My memory of Bible verses are pretty rusty, so don't quote me on that :P). Indulge is the key word, it implies that you have a choice of not indulging it. Anyways, that's getting off topic, my apologies.
Personally, I don't think we have any need to fear Korea's nukes. Afterall, I don't think they will really use nukes on us (err, not us, the US) since they have nothing to get out of it, except for hell from the American army. Don't worry, as long as the US has the upper hand, I don't think Korea will do anything stupid.

You never know what's going on in Kim's sadistic mind...

That may be true, but the American way of doing things is too different from that of the rest of the world's. That has to change! I'm not saying that the American laws should change, insttead, I belive their perspectives on certein subjects need to change.

Yes, it is quite bothersome, I'm glad to see PeanuButterMunky has resolved this dilema, now my eyes can get used to something and not have to wake up the next morning and look at something radically different.

I strongly disagree with that view, I not only belive they WILL launch the nukes, but I also belive this is quite capable of triggering another World War.
Well one thing I do agree with bush about is the Space missle defense program, I think it is a very good Idea and I do not agree with my goverment(The canadian goverment) on not joining it. The reason the Canadian goverment doesnt want to join it is because they fear that America and other countrys that run it will use it as a weapon against other countrys not just a weapon of defense.

Disgruntled democrats have had months to cool off since george W.bush recaptured the U>S presidency in November but it apears some may never recover.
immigration lawyers say they're still coping with a deluge of interest from Americans who've had it with there homeland and see liberal Canada as an inviting alternative
"The reason really is, when I speak to clients who are going through it, the feeling that their goverment doesnt speak for them "montreal lawyer david cohen said.
"the interest that was there right after the elcetion is certainly continuin on." the day after mr.Bush's return to the white house, an un precendented 115,628 Americans flooded the website of citizenship and immigration Canada. It was 60,000 more then the site normally recieves from everywhere in tyhe world combined, and traffic was strong in the fallowing weeks website of citizenship and immigration Canada. Well, as of late some of the nuclear material that Iran turned over tested as being made in the same region as where N. Korea could have got theirs from....
It isn't nessecarily true, but the idea that N. Korea has been giving away weapons grade nuclear material is a bad thing. Luckily for the US, China has softened their hard line approach about what would happen if we got into it with N. Korea (their former position being one of " touch them and we touch you"...not good from our perspective)
All in all, N. korea isn'tabout to shoot a missle at us, but they are deffinitely looking to fund some terrorism in our country, possibly using nuclear material. Luckily it is really hard to transport nuclear material, but i feel safer knowing i don't live any big cities.
Just for the record, Bush is an incompetent oaf and WHEN he does something stupid enough to warrant his impeachment, i am going to call my senator and ask him to vote AGAINST, because since everybody wanted him in office, i think they should all have to live with him in office. I will give no credance, sympathy or respect to anyone who says "oh no, ther's a draft, i whish i hadn't voted for bush"
You made you bed, now lie in it. I'm moving to europe.
I strongly disagree with that view, I not only belive they WILL launch the nukes, but I also belive this is quite capable of triggering another World War.
The thing is, what do they gain out of launching nukes against the US? Absolutely nothing, other than solidify what we already know -- Kim is a madman.
If they could get anything out of nuking the US, they might, but at the moment, I simply don't see why they would even bother.

I agree. They may try to fund some sort of terrorist operation, but other than that, they won't send any nukes directly at the US.

What do they have to gain? I belive that is obvious, Kim Jung-il has always been a mad man, and that will never change, but he does hope to become a respected mad man, like Bush, this retard wants to go down in this thing they call history.
Bush's administration has been about one thing; establishing the cow terd's "legacy." I belive others may have done better, by miles even. Not Kerry, not Nader, not any running candidate, I am going to side with Osama Bin Laden on this, "the American people control their country," not some mad monkey person elected by them. You elect a REPRESENTATIVE NOT A PRESIDENT, BECAUSE IN THE END, AMERICANS ARE THE ONES RUNNING THE COUNTRY. YOUR JOB IS TO ELECT A PERSON THAT WILL LOOK GOOD ON CAMARA EXPRESSING YOUR OWN BELIEFS, NOT AN ACTUAL "PRESIDENT."
As nice as democracy is on the outside, it has just as many social problems as communism, or any other form of government for that matter. (Till socialism is possible i mean)
Take for instance, the idea that the american people run the government. This a perfect example. There is no clause in the constitution that says american people will vote for the president. They vote for who they think SHOULD be the president, and then our "leaders" are suppossed to take that and vote the same way, but as we have seen from the couple of elections where the popular vote did not win the Election, this is not always the case.
Another good example is the idea that this country was founded on religious principles. This is inherently wrong and promoted by religion to say "look how far we have come" The founding fathers worked as hard as they could to make sure that religion had NOTHING to do with our country's government at ALL. (For example, in god wqe trust, was added considerably after the start of the country to our money, national anthem added "under god" during the great war. The reason this country was being established was that Britian was being terrible to us, so they wanted to start a new country nothing like britain. Britain was run by a church and church was very intrinsic to their legal setup...hence USA was formed with absolutely NO religion involved. Many of the founding fathers wher in fact Diest, not catholic or anything, and diesm was about as close to atheism as you could get in those days (today it's called Unitarianism or Universalism)
Of course, many of the principles that they used to guide as "good" are universal principles that most religions have adopted into their belief structure, just becasue it promotes the idea of being a good person, but just because they happen to be in a religion and in the declaration of independance doesn't mean that they were trying to make this a religiously based country.
But to the point about N. Korea, They don't feel like they are picking a fight. They know we are spread too thin overseas right now, and there is little e can do to saber-rattle in their direction as long as we are tied up in Afghanistan (remember that war?) and Iraq. So they aren't about to through weapons at us, cause they know that the gloves would come off then, but they are going to push us around and make us look stupid so that they can get us to open up trade. Just watch, if we go through with 6 party talks, N. Korea WILL show up, and if we open up trade restrictions on them, they WILL back down and leave us alone.
