View Full Version : 18 Minutes Of Halo 3 Gameplay
First of all, sorry if this has been posted before, but I haven't been on the boards in a while.
This video is a really good insight into one of the levels, I think is called Tsavo Highway. It shows of the amazing lighting model in Halo 3 which astounded me, and also shows the really good saved film feature which I think I will be using a lot. It is a very good video, and don't worry, regardless of the link title, there are no plot spoilers because the footage is all gameplay, no cutscenes.

Yeah, mp4 is 997mb - i'm currently at 820mb.
I'll keep it shared to keep the speeds up for people wanting to download.
Edit: I strongly urge people to download this 720p version of this.
Awesome demo of the game, plus the replay facility and ability to detach the camera look so cool, it has to be seen. The scale and epic proportions of the game really hit home when you see the dev detach the camera during a replay and spin it over to a completely different area than Master Chief, he shows how other battles are happening, completely removed from the player. The graphics are looking top notvh as does the rocksolid framerate. So glad I have this on pre-order.

This is old. Tsavo Highway is the level that was availible to the people who were accepted into the Halo 3 Epsilon, which was basiccly a beta test for the Campaign levels and Co-Op modes.

I like TPS as well, but they would have been crucified for a decision like that. To much change for the die-hards.

Wow. Just wow. That has to be the dumbest thing Ive ever heard. The BEAUTY of Halo is that its the first FPS on a console to be better/the same as a PC FPS.

I meant in the last few years. Yes, those games were revolutionary too. Just like Wolfenstein and Doom in their generations.

Man, that replay feature is friggen awesome, I wanted games to have that for ages, and the way Halo 3 does it is just perfect, now I wonder if there are any limitations of this that we are not told about, yes I'm skeptical like that. But still, well ****ing don Bungie, well ****ing done!

I agree with you there.
From playing halo and halo 2, I got a bad vibe from watching that video. I fear what I thought of this game has come true. Of course I haven't played it, but I(as any other halo fan) have an idea of how the gameplay of this game will be handled. I really don't like the level design from what I've seen so far. It just gives off that vibe I got from halo 2 and it's not a good thing for me. I'm not a multiplayer guy, so this game won't be given a pass with a crap(so to speak/halo2) campaign mode from me.
I'm not trying to sound like a troll or whatever, but this will be the make it or break it point for when I'm going to buy a 360. Regardless of how I feel from watching that video, I'm still going to play this game from a friends house.
