I've gotten this from:
http://www.nintendorevolution.ca/12212005/00/50_games_for_the_launch_of_the_nintendo_revolution :

What can be expect with the Nintendo Revolution launch in terms of titles. Wikipedia suggests that we may see as many 50 titles on launch day. It has also been suggested that A third Super Smash Bros. game with online play is said to be bundled in with the Revolution. Having a Mario bundled with the console should go without saying though.
Third-party developers such as Activision, Atari, Capcom, Electronic Arts, Ubisoft, Sega, and THQ have made positive comments about the Revolution and it may be possible they are supporting the system, but have not announced any specific games themselves. Ubisoft spokesman David Hawk said, ”we have some wonderful ideas for the console and plan to support Nintendo’s latest offering.”
With the launch date and many details yet unknown, it is difficult to estimate how many titles we can expect for launch. As this point, we have not even seen an “official” screen shot for any games, nevermind a trailer, or demo. Developers who have acknowledged that they will produce games for the Revolution, have yet to release any specific details.
Will we see 50 games on launch day? Probably not. But with many major developers eager to work with the new console and controller, it is likely we will see more than a few titles with the release of the Nintendo Revolution.

Whoa Super Smash Brothers with the Revolution at launch that will be great and you can play it online also :D . And we might have 50 games at launch to choose from

Wow. 50 titles? I guess Nintendo has learned their lesson from the GameCube era. It had like, 3 good release titles. Super Smash, Pikmin, and Waverace.

Now, are these games on the day of launch? Or 2-3 months after. Chances are we'll see like, 25 games. But the question is, will they be good?

I would wait and see. 50 games is something I think they can have in a year but not on release day.

How many titles came out for Gamecube in all of 2005? I think 50 launch titles is asking a lot. Maybe they're counting backwards compatibility like Zelda: Twilight Princess. It actually makes no economic sense to flood the market with 50 half-baked games because very few will be successful.

Yes, that's what I was thinking. I don't think that they'll have 50 titles on the day of the launch. Maybe, they'll have a gradual increase to 50 after 6 months. But 50 on release? that's asking a bit too much.

if nintendo had some great game then I could see this. but I don't think so. Sony is a company that could do this but they wouldn't do that. 50 games in a year is more real then launch day.

I agree that it's ridiculous, 50 games is not plausible, but it's already known that Revolution is 100% backwards compatible with Gamecube, so that can't be it. Like you said though, it could be downloadable games.

I think it's too early to tell, if it's 50 games most of them won't be quality titles while you'll get some good ones, I'm depicting that most of them will be games already out for the next gen systems and current gen systems, plus you got your EA games.

It says "Wikipedia suggests that we may see as many 50 titles on launch day." The source is Wikipedia, people! It's likely just a rumor that some dummy decided to post on Wikipedia. Ignore this and move on.

I hope to see a new Mario Title soon. Better be good one too. Something like Mario 64 was. I love that game.

Yeah, Super Mario Sunshine was okay, but the whole Water Pump thing got annoying, because that was all you did. Spray, and Jet-pack. Over and over. Nintendo, all we want is some platforming goodness. The platforming in Sunshine was great when you didn't have the pump.
