first things first, anyone that says the graphics haven't improved is an IDIOT. the most noticable thing to me was the fact that the players shorts actually MOVE around the players legs and get creases in depending on what action the leg is performing etc. it also looks as if you can dive on purpose as i saw a player dive and get booked for it. i would love to be able to dive on purpose (This Is Football 2002 anyone?). it would bring an enitrely new element to online play and playing with mates.
You can dive on purpose, if that makes you pleased... To be honest I really don't want it online... if its implemented badly it will be a disaster of epic proportions.
The graphics are nice, they have improved, but they are worlds away from next gen quality and FIFA 08. Not that graphics are the only thing which matter.
The problem with having diving in a GAME is that unethical players will have their entire team doing it 100% of the time there is an opportunity for a reward. Ethics get in the way with most players in the real world.
true, but you will get punished if you constantly dive, with yellow and even red cards. sure its unethical, but in the end you will win.

It looks good close up but in wide view it just looks like PES 6

Diving wouldn't be a major issue if we could assume that the refereeing in the game is good. Unfortunately, we cannot. The refs in PES 6 were dumb as lead, giving penalties for perfect tackles on the ball (where the other player doesn't even stumble or fall), not reacting to certain blatant fouls and often giving a free kick for the wrong side. In the gameplay movies I've seen so far of PES 2008, the refereeing seems to have stayed indentical. I don't get how they didn't change something so appalling, but it seems that way. How can we trust such a ref AI to properly handle diving? We'll probably get some random cases where the ref blows his whistle and where he doesn't. I'm hoping it'll be better than that, but I expect a disappointment.
