I have heard for some great while that HOME is slated for October 4th!!!! and NOT the 10th!!! so im sticking to the belief that it is the 4th and not the 10th, i already have the 4th off from work because of the impending release of HOME, so lets hope it is the 4th and not the 10th!!

Besides from what I've heard homes open beta will be invite only.

Well if this is true, I'm still downloading the ratchet and clank demo first since its supposed to come out on that day. I really don't have any anticipation for home.

first of all, it will mostly likely be a soft release which means it may come oct 4th but not everyone will get it! So you may not get it until nov 4th where your neighbor has it dec 10th!
4th to the 10th isn't really all that far off and when the day comes 'live is better then PSN' will be no more Mwahahahahaha.

Its not like Home is gonna be a video game or anything, it is just a social network. I guess you can find someone to play checkers with, but other than that you'd just be walking around.
About the date itself, it is doubtful. Sony already made hints at a soft launch, which is the best way to ensure the servers dont downright crash.
If it does come out anytime soon, PSN: Vipir, Ill be glad to sit down and pwn you in a game of checkers. lol

the beta ends on the 2nd(according to the beta site - under GAP) which means that the launch might be on that weeks thurs or the next one.
edit: actually its on the 4th(because its a thursday)

Dude..change the title to "rumoured to be october 4th"...the title suggests it is factual...and you have no proof...so it ain't...

Well, I did a pretty exhaustive google search to see if I could find any links or evidence to support the Oct 4th claim from the OP.
I did not find any such evidence or links, sorry.
What I did find however was many, many links and websites giving the Rachet and Clank demo release date of Oct 4 and the release date for Home on the PS3 on Oct 11, 2007, a week later.. which is also on a Thursday I'd like to add.
Want links? Fine. Simply go to google and put in the same search criteria that I did... "Home PS3 October 4". With that exact search you will find many links to get the same results that I found on the first 2 or 3 search result pages alone. Over and over and over links for Home releasing on Oct 11, 2007 and the R&C demo releasing on Oct 4, 2007.
In the end, time will tell.

we are just going to have to wait and see when it releases. im sitting on the fence at the moment with regards to Home, just not sure what its going to hold for me, granted i will still use it alot, but we will just have to wait and see what happens.
all i have to say is if it is buggy and not 100% intergrated with friends and games like they keep saying. PLEASE dont release it. i dont want another Warhawk incident. I'd rather wait more time and have it flawless, then have it early and deal with bugs and patches and updates every other day.

I have also booked some time off work for the release of Home on the "4th".
I have booked a month off to prepare myself and get myself into the zone. I have made a list of preperation's that need to be done in the run up to the release..
1. Stock up on monster munch crisps.
2. rub out the wife ( axe to the head should do it)
3. purchase some do not disturb signs and wire some stungun links to front door.
4. Go to the gym..need to work on my "guns" for the extended sessions of home i will be playing.
5.remember to get some sunlight every 1 -3 hour's.
6.purchase rocky iv music for the hours leading upto the actual download itself..lets get motivated!!.
Yep..i think i'll be ready for it....lol.

Man that would be awesome, i found out earlier yesterday that back in may or something like that they PSN released a(n) Trial version for Home and i saw the pics and videos that the user took and i was like (wtf??) i was real pissed off cause i never knew that it was on there, i never really got to play or take a look at PS3 home. So yeah. Don't know why but i get on my PS3 EVERYDAY AND CHECK THE UPDATES AS WELL. But it didn't appear on those days or maybe i was probably busy with something and i never noticed it was on PSN.

Yah thats what I was thinking! It was pushed back....o well as long as it runs fairly smooth! I cant beleive someone took the day of from work for HOME! One of my friends took the rest of this week off for Halo 3 and I still think thats crazy!
Yes this is true! On Septmeber 19, the news came from Japan I believe or somewhere else. But im really pissed off with first that i didnt even get to download the trial version back in May 07. I dont know why but i wasnt informed or may be whatever you wonna say. And now i was real anxious for it to be released this Fall 07 - Next Month during october. But now that is pushed back in 08! Any reasons you wonna tell me guys?!

There is a posts on these boards about home being delayed till next year. To be honest I would not get all your hope up for home.
