Nintendo President Satoru Iwata has confirmed that the new upcoming Nintendo Revolution will cost under $299.

Nintendo Satoru Iwata has priced the Nintendo Revolution to $299, if not less. This is very interesting since its the same price as the low-end "standard" model for a

Microsoft Xbox 360. In other words, you get the full Nintendo Revolution for the same price as Xbox 360 standard.

Over the past few weeks, rumours were spreading about how Nintendo will price the Revolution next-generation video game console. It is clear that Nintendo wants a different price than Sony PS3 and Xbox 360.

Now, about those Nintendo Revolution specs. Nintendo is still keeping a tight lip on their technologies, and no tech details have been announced yet. While some members of the media have speculated and tried to "guess" what the specs are, there hasn't been any formal release or data sheet from Nintendo.

Nintendo Revolution is expected to launch in May 2006, prior to E3 in Los Angeles. GameSHOUT will be there and we'll be hosting a live Revolution event that can be seen by both streaming video and audio from GameSHOUT Radio.

If it is, I'm waiting for 1 or 2 price drops in Australia and then I'm getting one.

It had better cost under $300, nobody will buy it if it doesn't.

I thought they confirm the price way way back that was 299 oh well.........it has to be less since not as powerful as PS3 or 360. So this price kind affordable and beside kids doesnt have that much money anyway. so that is good thing for Revolution

It better be under $299 dollars. That's too much for me. Because I will buy one console on the Day of Release, and wait for a price drop on the others. If the Nintendo Revolution is 300$, I will just buy a Playstation 3. But it says, less then $299, so i'm guesing a 149.99 dollars price. maybe 200$ at the most.

I would be willing to bet the price of the Revolution will be from $199.99 to 249.99. Nintendo have released all their home consoles at that price...I can't see them releasing sub $199.99 as it will make their console look too cheap. It is suppose to be a innovative piece of hardware...as much as people would like to believe it is just a souped up GameCube it won't be. Atleast that is my opinion.

Anyways...we'll all know soon enough where Nintendo is truly heading price-wise and games-wise. Instead of all this speculation and controller-shell mock up's etc. :D

I really hope that the price will be high at launch, so that the sells will be lower than the ones of the GC, so that there will be a massive price-crash, just like what happened to the GC, wich is now like 50 euro's (?)

BUT I'd love to see the Rev. launch at 149.95, it's a good competating price!

I think the Revolution will be 150$, and the games are probably going to stay the same. 50-60 dollars. Anything more wouldn't be acceptable. The GameCube is 60$ refurbished, which is cheap, and I'd hate to see the same case with the Revolution.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say the most expensive a rev will be is $250 or $200.

I'd be willing to pay that for the revolution as long as it is revolutionary! I'd like a little more subject matter on the games line up before I consider handing out $200 - 290 into Ninty's palms. But the thought of Nintendo's entire back catalogue of games to download pretty much completes the deal for me anyway.
I'll finally get to play Chrono Trigger & Cross :D

do we really need 2 of these threads... O_o

"Nintendo Revolution will cost under $299." Key word there... UNDER! basically nothing has been confirmed then, other than it will be cheap!

I would still expect a 200-250 price tag.
