Well, I picked up Wild Arms III for 10 bucks at Walmart and started playing today. The gameplay is pretty good, but all I can after playing it 4 hours with component cables on my hd tv is.... PS2 devs have gotten a lot freaking better?

Anyone else know what I am talking about? For the first 5 minutes, I thought I was playing a PS1 title!

Wild Arms is a good rpg series, it is better know for their storyline, not for it's graphics. Even the ps1 games didn't have Final Fantasy level graphics, but the game story and battle system was always fun, and those are the two factors i consider most when i purchase an rpg (even today i still play Final Fantasy VI for the said reasons).

If you take Radiata Stories for example, it has some of the most beatiful graphics i have ever seen on a rpg game, but the story really sucked, and that's without mentioning the two endings. I know Wild Arms 3 looked bad, besides it's a very old ps2 title, it's from 2002 if i remember correctly. Even the new remake, Wild Arms Alter Code F, is not recomended to rpg fans who only care about graphics, the battle system and story is really interesting and the music is one of the best soundtracks i have ever heard, but if some casual gamer who does not take time to play and rpg plays it, and you ask him for an oppinion, it's almost a given that he would answer "Teh Grafizzz is Gay".

So pacman, if you really like rpg's, try that game, the story is really good, the map exploration system is good too, but if you are really looking for graphics, wait for Wild Arms 4, it will be released next week in the states, the graphics are not top notch, but at least are far more decent than the ones of WA3 and WA: Alter Code F.

You could say the same for Dragon Quest. However, not all RPGs are designed to have an awesome story line. Certainly, Final Fantasy is renowned for that, but Radiata Stories opts for a more humourous storyline, a more fun storyline. It's dialogue is goofy, and it's designed that way. Doesn't mean it's a bad game. Dragon Quest VIII for example, has a rather weak storyline but it certainly excels in graphics and 'old school' feel, and is critically accalimed.

I used to have Wild Arms for the original Playstation (The one with Celes, Jack and his hampster/rat, and that ...dude, but it never captivated me as much as the PSOne Generation of Final Fantasy. Perhaps I didn't get far enough to get immersed in the storyline.

Zero, really, tell me the truth, did you finished radiata stories? THe game had me really motivated when i was playing it, but in the later half of the game, the story simply fell apart, a lot of inconsistencies, even the original plots were ignored, like when you are scourting the princess and the thieves steal something from her (i do not remember what right now), and it was later completely ignored. And the ending man, The Ending sucked big, no matter which side you were aligned with, be it the humans or the non humans. The only thing good that really has me replaying it, is the fact that once you fnished the game with both sides, you unlock Lenneth Valkyrie (from the Valkyrie PRofile series) as a playable character.

I must admit though, that the game had some interesting features that i want it to become standard in every rpgs. For example, normally in almost all rpg games, when you visit a town, there are people staying idle in the middle of the town, or walking like crazy, like they have no life. In Radiata, every single character had a life, so you could follow a single NPC a whole day and see all the activities he would do. For example, a woman wakes up in the morning, goes to the church, pray for a while, setup his shop, then in the night she goes to her house and get some sleep. It's really innovating and interesting to see that the developers actually took time to program every single character action in that game. Also the fact the that you had to live a life for a while (making missions to get paid in order to make a living) was really innovative.

The game promised a lot, i really enjoyed it, believe me, i was very excited while i was playing it, and it's really fun, but when you are reaching the end of the game, when things really get serious, you notice like the story was rushed, really rushed, like if the game was forced to meet some deadline, You even reach the final boss without knowing it, which really kills the experience.

Well, I've never played a Wild Arms game but I would like to get the remake for PS2. Has anyone ever given the Arc the Lad series a go? I just started me a save on Twilight of the Spirits and I must say that I am very pleased I purchased this game. Makes me want to go back and get Arc the Lad collection and even End of Darkness for PS2.

I am currently in Little Twister and I need Toy Hammers for the Garden Dungeon. Yet I can't find the item guy ANYWHERE in town. I have "chatted" with him, so does that mean he's already in next town?

Help please!

I really didn't like Wild ARMs III. I felt it wasn't as in-depth as the other ones.

a storyline is what makes RPG good. when playing a RPG you want to feel like your really part of something great.

Just beat the game. :D I think I would give it a 7/10, graphics and gameplay were both simple, but story wasn't bad at all.

I am near the end of Wild Arms alter code f, and already bought Wild Arms 4, but i havenīt played it yet, but it could be a couple of weeks before i finish WA alter code f, a buddy lent me his copy of Metroid Prime and Resident Evil zero, so i wont be playing ps2 for a while.

I really liked wild arms 3, even though the graphics we far from final fantasy quality, the battle system was fun, and i really liked the history, and also the way they change the intro movie each time you pass a certain portion of the game, specially when asgard makes itīs first appearance and when the little girl (final boss) is shown in the anime opening.
