So last night I was watching a movie off of my HDD, and it would randomly, throughout the movie, start to fast forward. I thought maybe I accidentally hit the trigger or something, so I turned the controller off, and then it would STILL do it, thats when I knew something was wrong. Has anyone had this happen. My brother in law suggested that maybe the ps3 was picking up a weird signal from some other device causing it to react, but i have no clue, this was the only time this has ever happened.

Then why post at all?

Does it happen at the same point in the movie? If it does, my guess is that the movie is corrupt. Are you able to stop the fast forwarding?

Its not the movie, because i see the ffw icon from the ps3 pop up in the corner when it happens, and its not just one time in the movie, just randomly throughout the movie. and ya i can stop it when it happens just by pushing start and itll play normally, but it gets annoying

lol... just go to the playstation network and choose a trailer to download...
There are places on the net where you can get PS3 compatible movies too just to try it out...

anyway, I was going to suggest that maybe you hit the trigger, but you already checked that.
Whenever I play resistance, I always hit the triggers by accident in the cut-scenes... they are a bit too sensitive lol.

bluetooth can pass through walls. So maybe someone next door is using there playstation 3 :) or some other bluetooth device and it is controling your ps3. i find it hard as you have to pair them up to the ps3, but they may interfere if the signals are close.

Maybe the ps3 hates the movie :)

Do you have a 2nd controller or the Blu-Ray remote? Those are the only two reasons I could see mysteriously FF-ing your movie
