Have you ever read the book River God by Wilbur Smith. He is a American Author but his books have been translated into 26 languages. It's the first part of a series of 4 based around Egypt. It's one of the best books I have ever read. River God is set in ancient Egypt.

I actually read it while I was on holiday in Egypt in August 2009 and it's around 700 pages long and I read it in a week it was that good.
