Yeah you have to give rep to a bunch of people before you can give it to the same person again. Don't worry about it...

Also I don't know about it speeding up the connection because the router its self runs at fast speeds already. But you can adjust the strength of the wireless signal to get better signal it your house and further. I think mine is currently set at 150 mW and the default is 70 mW. . .max with the DD-WRT is 251 mW for the transmit power and it makes a huge difference with wireless quality.

Yeah I have the same adapter but I gave it to my mother. She has been using it with my other WRT54G for awhile. The best thing to do is go to Linksys's website and download the newest driver from them. I did that and it stopped any bugs that it seemed to have. . .Also vista used to cause some of the problems. And I switched to Windows 7 because I get it for free from my school.

The DD-WRT firmware can do all sorts of stuff. It has increased security, you can use the router as a client instead of host (so you can have it connect to another wireless router and plug stuff in to it), you can use it as a repeter, you can setup sputnik so people have to sign up to use the router. There really are all sorts of really cool stuff you can do. If you want to check it out go here: http://www.dd-wrt.com/site/index
