Does using the Component HD cables on a PS2 with an LCD tv make it look better than the normal Composite AV cables? If so, how much better? does the resolution change?

Using component cables will sharpen up the picture for non HD games, and if the games support 480p, or in the case of GT4, 1080i, you can run the games in the higher resolution. I had to use component cables on my HDTV to beat timesplitters 2 on hard, for example, so the increased resolution can give you an advantage. Remember that some HDTVs will distort the picture of standard PS2 games as well, so try to use the cables with a TV which can upscale the picture.
