Hate those dream sequences! Thought you would have been all over FF VIII after being so eager to get it
Yeah I know I been a bit busy I hope to get a good chunk in now that it's the weekend.
Yeah hope so man be good to hear how you're doing! :)
I hope to get FF V played at some point this weekend :p
Yup I'll let you know whats up. Think you'll beat it this weekend?
I don't know mate, hope so!
Are you trying to imitate Chille and get the Ultimate Weapons early on? Or just playing through?
Well good luck then!
I'm not even going to bother with that card game to get the items for it lol maybe a different way later on.
Don't think Chille played cards to get the items. But why not give the card game a go mate!?

One of my favourite FF V themes!
Does hearing a theme from a FF game make you want to play that particular game? Lol
Yeah I recall him saying you have to lol Because I generally hate card games like those..Lol
Great theme btw and yeah I get that feeling everytime I hear an FFVII theme or some others.
So I beat Final Fantasy XII this morning, and wow did I love it! So glad I decided to go back through that game. Easily one of my favorites of the entire series now.
I'm about 6 hours into FFXIII-2 right now. It's great how many NPCs are in this game and how prominent settlements are. It makes the pacing much better and adds a lot more life to the world. Talking to the NPCs about life on Pulse, Cocoon, etc, helps develop more of an attachment for the player, which FFXIII lacked.
FFXII really grows on you.
After playing it for the first time back in 2006, I thought it was a very solid game, but nothing more. After playing FFXIII though, with it's terrible dialogue, lack of towns and exploration, etc, I really came to appreciate FFXII, which had the exact opposite.
Also, with FFX being my first Final Fantasy, I wanted something more like that, which also contributed to my slight disappointment of FFXII. But once I came to enjoy it for its unique approach, it became one of my favorite games.
Oh it does, Ixion. I had a similar experience with my first run through back in 2006. I always thought it was a solid game, but there was just always something that kept me from getting too far in it. My first FF was VII, so I generally wanted FF games to focus more on character driven plots, so I guess I also dismissed XII for its approach to more of a central story with less focus on the characters.
This run, I had no issues. I was hooked onto the story and really enjoyed it for what it was. I did most of the hunts, gathered a decent amount of espers and gear.
Next FF game to play and beat will be X. Probably start that in a few months if no word on the HD remake.
Just could not get in to XII at all! Didn't enjoy the battle system and didn't feel a connection to any of the characters. However having managed to dig my ps2 out and get FFX back from my bro, i also snagged XII of him so may get around to playing it again at some point
Quick update, tried three f'king times to beat Odin on FFV at the weekend! You have to beat him under a minute and it is hard! Lol kuro mate, any advice? ;)
Spam holy or flare or throw shurikens at him. Good luck!
You ain't saying much these days lol you ok man? :)
Never tried Holy as thought Odin was immune to it tried spamming Bahamut but took to long lol
Yeah I'm alright haven't played much been busy with halloween prep with the fam. Costumes and all.
Yeah I'm sure it'll work high lvl monk attacks are pretty effective as well.
Gil toss ;)
Lol that's really effect who knew money hurts. XP
Final Fantasy XII was a mixed bag. It seems like for every one thing it did right, it failed in another.
Vaan did have some potential as a central protagonist - a thief who lost his brother, with dreams of flying his own airship - but lost it after Ashe and other members of the party were introduced.
The gameplay was addicting but I never really liked the license board or using Espers in battle. And while the music was good there wasn't a single track in the game that stood out for me. Then again, Nobuo Uematsu wasn't tied to the project.
Judge Gabranth was a cool villain but nowhere near the best.
Worth a try?
Yes but think of it as an offline mmo. Meaning to get best weapons armor means zoning in and out trying to find a rare spawn that may or may not drop it, and stealing from certain mobs.
Other than that it is good. I admit that rare stuff pissed me off so I used gameshark back in the day to force them to spawn and drop lol.
Oh ok cool always liked looking for rare weapons and items. Sounds fun to me thanks Yuuichi. :)
Don't get me wrong. FFXII is a very flawed game. But its strengths are so impressive, the result is something special IMO.
By the way, I downloaded Final Fantasy Dimensions for my iPhone, which is free apparently. I'm only a couple hours in and it's a pretty solid Final Fantasy game, especially for free.
