Tomb Raider and Hitman look ace
TR looks ok but doubt it'll beat the classics.
In reference to the title, isn't that how it is with almost all games? Very few games have been incredible in the recent years.
Why do so many people say this kind of thing? I don't know what people mean when they say a game is incredible. I've played many games that I have thoroughly enjoyed in the past 3-4 years.
This is not a personal attack at you Sufi I'm just being general. Are people that picky these days? Do games have to be 100% perfect and always have massive innovations? I'd like to say I'm not ranting but I kind of am.
What IS it that people want out of these games? I'm a bit surprised The Last of Us isn't on that list. Post apocalypse setting is the most cliche setting I can think of yet people are going nuts over this. Why?
I don't really care for hitman. Tomb raider I'll get in the bargain bin. Next year is all about Beyond, Aliens, TLOU and bioshock infinite. MGRising will get a look aswell. I have the most hype for Dust 514, Aliens and Bioshock atm.
They can not be serious?
Tomb Raider and especially Hitman look fantastic and are highly anticipated
But then again they're not Call Of Duty
No wonder the press is giving good games bad reviews for stupid reasons if those look average to them

im not gunna type out the meaning by myself...its too long so i'll excerpt from wiki

In economics, market saturation is a situation in which a product has become diffused (distributed) within a market[1]; the actual level of saturation can depend on consumer purchasing power; as well as competition, prices, and technology.

further growth of sales [omitted] will occur basically only as a result of population growth and in cases where one manufacturer is able to gain market share at the expense of others.
i think this gen has lasted a bit too long. it pretty much describes the attitudes being seen.
as you say, TLOU is somewhat clichéd. compared to what though? every game now is brown-gray gun shooter where ammo comes in copious amounts. TLOU mixes it up a little. Lara is an old girl in new boots. TLOU is new and exciting(refer to the graph again, its quite diverse in its application)
Tomb Raider looks completely average? ROFL....not sure what they are smoking.
Because she has an avg size chest and body ratio. They want a bimbo with guns. Maybe they should play lollypop chainsaw lol. IDK These games all look good to me and yet I wouldn't say ANY have been overly hyped. Not like the marketing campaign that AC3 has. We actually just saw a release of a majorly hyped franchise that was completely avg. and they didn't mention it....perhaps because its been bashed to death but RE6 completely fits this article. Huge budget/franchise but watered down because they had no direction in gameplay. It was like they didn't know what direction to take so they went in all directions and got nowhere. I much rather would prefer get one game style and have a consistant experience through out. Love it or hate it that is fine but don't give me a couple good levels and a bunch of crap.
Actually I am surprise they didn't mention RE6, because the reason this article is saying those games are average is the same reason RE6 is
Watch the reviews for those 2 games when they hit
TR will be a Uncharted clone that has lost its way and Hitman will be too hard and too much content with not enough stealth, which has lost its way
Mean while......[insert yearly release game here ] gets tens across the board for innovation and originality

I think when most people say the new TR is like Uncharted, they are referring to the fact that Crystal Dynamics is going with a more cinematic approach (not just CGI, but even through gameplay.)
Saying Tomb Raider is a clone of Uncharted is just as stupid as saying Uncharted is a clone of Tomb Raider.
I've played the old Tomb Raider games and I've played Uncharted. I did not feel like I was playing TR while going through Uncharted. Uncharted's focus is different. Tomb Raider never focused on presentation like it is now before Uncharted though.. (so there was influence.)
Just not gameplay wise. I haven't played the new TR obviously.....but we'll see how it plays when it releases.

You can argue that the theme is similar (Drake and Lara both are treasure hunters, etc.)
This generation has bred alot of nit picky self entitled "gamers" who live and die by the scores on Metacritic instead of thinking for themselves. I think rather than just have fun with a game that they do actually buy they play through it looking for any flaw to complain about under the guise of being a "discerning gamer" or having "higher standards." Alot of reviews this gen are written by people like that imo.
I only buy the best cause I like to be fancy....lmao
However I agree a lot of games I play don't get great scores like the dynasty warrior games they always get 6 or 7's however I love all of them? Its a fun game and I enjoy the stories...sue me lol
Well I'm yet to play the Grand Theft Auto III of this gen so yeah, quality has definitely taken a dip with some of the bigger franchises this gen.
