Need an opinion on some laptops (not for me)
So its nearing Christmas and my mother wants a laptop so she can get rid of her desktop. She mostly uses it to play on pogo, facebook games, general web surfing, and she loves those "Find (object) in picture" games. I'd love it if it could play some newer games so I could steal it when shes not around (:snicker) but other then that I dont forsee any real heavy gaming on it (Like BF3 at Ultra, etc. I tend to play indie games these days.)
I've been looking for a half decent $600 or less laptop for what seems like months now, but it all just does my head in. I want to stay as far away from Windows 8, so unfortunately it cant be anything really new.
Specs of the potential laptop I'm inquiring about:
Quote:
HP PAVILION
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
CPU: Intel Core i3-2350M
RAM: 6GB DDR3
GPU: AMD Radeon HD 7670M
HDD: 750 GB
Link to the page for this laptop is here:

Kind of going towards this mostly cause of screen size, GPU, and HDD space - doesnt hurt its $50 cheaper.
Another laptop, that seems to have a better CPU but a worse GPU and less RAm and HDD:
Mothers current desktop:
Quote:
OS : Windows Vista Home Basic 32-bit
CPU: AMD Athlon LE-1640 (1.4 GHZ or so single core)
RAM: 3 GB DDR2 800MHZ
GPU: Radeon 2100
HDD: 160 GB
Its a $300 Acer desktop that I upgraded the memory in. AM1200-E1520B is the model, but good luck finding any information about
it since its a 2008/2009 desktop
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
