Certainly not me. The more competition the better. If only Nintendo or only MS had a console then we'd never seem prices coming down.

Agreed. Good stiff competition means we the consumers/gamers win. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KiPhn...layer_embedded
Battlefield MC2 on PS2 was and is my favorite online game I've ever played....closely followed by COD Finest Hour on PS2. Had so many fun times with my clan mates in those days....although BF3 and CODMC1 and 2 have been very enjoyable...black ops not so much. BFBC sucked...BFBC2 was slightly better...BF3 really improved...at least you can talk to the whole team and have your own servers....that was the golden age of gaming....hosting your own servers kicking cheats and mods and laggers....perfect gaming.
PS....I have no idea what this has to do with the thread title...just caught the end of this convo.
You all know who you are... this ones for you.....

NEVER BACK AN ANALYST!
So I read at gaf, but whats the pic for
The analysis didn't take PS2 sales into account (though I imagine they can't be much because Sony wouldn't have stop production if they were) was the numbers higher then 75vs76
either way like I said before at this point neither side should be bringing because how close they are, it can all change in a month and could go back & forth
A 5-10 mill lead would be something to write home about don't ya agree?

There was a lot of people in this thread who took this as gospel, to the point of defending IDC, and getting quite shirty at anybody who dare question it.
I told them they would have egg on their face if it turns out its not the case.....
I'm not saying the lead is anything, I don't really care, its more about the gullible being lead by their noses.
They are so quick to defend these sorts of things, and accuse anyone who questions it as attacking it or "spinning" it, or better yet just straight out labeling them as fanboys.
Like I said to Rad, Sony will most likely announce their numbers before the PS4 announcement
But I still think the numbers are too close to brag about, even if those numbers was true it would only take a good month in the US for 360 to take it back.

Well Yung says that Sony hasn't been successful because it failed to keep the massive marketshare from last gen. So Sony's current market-share is a result of Sony being unsuccessful as a console maker, not a result of MS becoming a solid competitor. And so, MS only got a head because of Sony's failure...Well this is just what I understood from his repeated sentiment.
Ive had three bourbons, and...ya lost me lol.

I think your math is WAY off.
First of all, the 6.6 number is PS3 and PS2 combined sales.
Second, that is their sales from October 1 through December 31. Figure about 1 million of those were PS2s, and about 2 million of those 6.6 million came BEFORE Sony's 70million figure in mid November.
Which all means that Sony probably sold around 3-4 million PS3s in the second half of November and December, which would leave them at 73-74 million total. That would mean they are still around 2 million behind the 360, give or take a few hundred thousand.
