I bet we're all going to be disappointed and this is going to be an announcement for something like PlayStation Move 2. :snicker

Some people are certainly going to be dissapointed, they aren't going to show a hell lot of games, if even any I bet. But it's definitively about PS4, no way they are flying in shareholders and everyone from the press for something small.

I remember once we were promised a huge new announcement for a game and it turned out to be something they had already announced.

Indeed, that's going to be a problem with curtailing second-hand gaming. That also makes companies like Blockbuster and Gamefly obsolete.

I for one, I'm not really against it nor with it. If anything make games cheaper. I'm with it.

Second hand games WILL die. Its inevitable. PC has been doing it for YEARS through steam, iOS and all tablets apps are the same. A digital license cannot be sold back so as we slowly converge to a digital future there will be no place for used games. And frankly I don't care about used games. I only have one used game in my collection and only because EB games was out of new copies.

They won't die, it'll just be a little harder to use. There's already "false" steam programs out there that run every steam game, only difference is that people are now DLing the games illegally and playing them illegally, now no one is getting the money.

But it´s not only the second hand market that´s screwed. One thing that consoles had over PC games are the fact that i can take my games to my pals and play with them on their own systems! It´s the whole rent from a friend thing that could possible fucked up with this attitude of DRM crap.

They will probably show a improved version of the PSeye/move along with everything else.

If ps eye is intergrated, i won't buy it. Period.

That (which IIRC was just a quote hyped up to be something it was not) is not even close to comparable to flying people in from everywhere to NY to see this event, having live streams of it and so on.

Well that's called piracy and to play illegal downloads on a CONSOLE you need to crack the console's security which isn't a walk in the park by any means. Second hand games WILL die

It also happened with the slim. First the casing was leaked from foxcom IIRC then some south american retailer posted pics of the actual slim

Okay, I've kinda had enough of this lol! Guys, it is going to be PS4. It is going to launch this year. The reason why it is being announced now is this event on the 20th is just days before Destination Playstation, which is Sony's annual event with retailers. The stores are going to have to make space for the new product line and have all their marketing stuff put together and ready for the new system launch.

Sony will not simply announce a console at E3 and launch it the same year, the business organization simply would not work that way. So, there. That is why you are seeing PS4 on the 20th. It's because of Destination Playstation. It's essentially a butter up with the retail industry. Have a nice day.

I apologize if this somehow "ruins the surprise" for anybody but it really isn't THAT hard to figure out, though.
