Fumito Ueda Updates 'The Last Guardian'

Ueda went on to mention that he was planning new projects to be undertaken "with a fresh perspective" - on a new console?

"Moving forward, it is my intent to continue my involvement with The Last Guardian project, as well as pursue new creative projects with a fresh perspective. As I rekindle my passions as a creator, I look forward to seeing where it will take me, and I deeply appreciate your support during this transition."

Ueda's statement comes exactly one week before Sony's much-hyped news conference. It's the first we've heard of The Last Guardian in months.

Sony Worldwide Studios chief Shuhei Yoshida told Eurogamer last year that the game was still being developed "on PlayStation 3".

'Supervision' probably means he's not involved on a day-to-day basis anymore. Also, since we've waited this long, they might as well make this a PS4 title.

I had assumed this was delayed to be made on PS4, i remember reading that there was a wish for greater hardware to truely do the game justice (although i am probably mistaken, sure i read an article about technical limitaions causing concern.. years ago i must add).

It would make sense now that i have read this though, ''details regarding The Last Guardian's release is solely decided by Sony Computer Entertainment'' could, to me, mean that it will be unveiled once Sony unveil PS4.

I know at the end it says it was still planned for PS3 but perhaps they simply were not ready to tempt fate with news of PS4.

Can't waaaaaaaait! My soul craves this game!

I sure do hope that Sony decided to let them move to the ps4.

This game it has come out lol. How many years the people are waiting?

Its just sad, it feels like Ueda has fallen out of love for the project and with Sony in general. I just get the impression their relationship has soured over the whole thing.

Exactly my thoughts. Sony have probably pressured the hell outta theb because fans were ridind there a$$es. It's funny how It works. Someone complains to you and then you must go complain to someone, also. :snicker

Since he is saying that Sony has to announce any info, this sounds like it got pushed to next gen. Just wishful thinking. But I'm sure that is what's going on behind closed doors.

I thought Fumito Ueda stepped down a while back. Anyways, I'm not going to get myself excited until I actually see some gameplay footage.

He did but he was still going to work on the title but there was speculation that it was going to kill the project. Considering the way he is handling questions about it he has taken more of a hands off approach. Sounds like he just isn't into it anymore.

I knew it....this is a PS4 launch title....great move on Sony's part if that's true

Uh huh...it's been how long? I'll believe when they produce some solid info, gameplay or a trailer. I was very excited for this when it was first announced but they need to work hard to make me crave this game again.

It would be cool if this was a PS4 title. Even cooler if it makes the launch. Make it happen sony.

Seriously I feel like I've been hearing stuff about this game but seeing nothing for the past 3 years

Yeah I def think they should make it a PS4 launch title. That will start the PS4 with a strong JRPG. Heck a string RPG in general unlike PS3 that took a while to rank up the RPG goodness.

I'm just really happy that this man is planning to stay around. He's unique in this world =)

Regardless of when it comes out, I can't wait for this game. Shadow of the Colossus is one of my favorite games ever.
