Pity it wasn't October, but I guess it is better than it being Feb or March in Europe.
Here you go bro!

Before Sony announced that the PlayStation 4 would be releasing on November 15th in the US and Canada and November 29th in numerous other countries, rumors were flying around that it could come out as early as October.
As it turns out, the PS4′s release date “was always going to be November,” says Fergal Gara, VP & Managing Director at SCE UK and Ireland, in an interview with VideoGamer. “Yesterday there were some rumors of October, but rumors are rumors. I’ve never heard October mooted internally. So we’re just delighted we’re locked on for November.”
With this date, Fergal adds that it will “satisfy a whole lot of Christmas wishes,” and on the topic of possibly not having enough PS4 stock at launch to fill demand, he added, “There’s nothing sinister or overly clever about it, and it certainly isn’t a PR stunt. It’s a real high demand situation and helping retail to manage that responsibly.”
What do you think of the fact that Fergal never even heard a possible October release date for the PS4?
Of course, the 15th. They called and asked me when I feel it should be done in Nov. :)
I'm glad they chose mid November, and it even was just like I was expecting it to be, released on Friday like the PS3.
I always believed it would be released in November. It just makes perfect sense.
My guess was Nov 13th so I was only two days off!
I thought it would have been late October. I didn't expect a November 15th launch. That is nice though and I can't wait for the PS4 to come out.
Of course it was. It wouldn't be smart to launch a console with no games. They likely targeted a date when their first and likely large 3rd party devs could hit and said this is our launch date. NOW...that gave them a shipping date and thus a production cut off date. They then opened up pre-orders and allow ordering from their partners and only cut it off when the pre-orders pass what they can safely ship by the 15th of Nov. If they launched earlier the pre-order amounts would have been limited. Also, having the launch a couple weeks before black friday in the US means that pre-orders could be filled and a chance they can get PS4s into the channel for black friday as well...as door busters for their retailers....there may only be 3 or 4 per store but it is a possibility and definately would still help those retailers have people lined up. I have no clue what their production lines look like but with the parts they are using there shouldn't be shortages and they should be able to see weekly or biweekly shipments straight through the holiday season...building on that 1 million total they already have. Also something this big takes so much marketing and advertising they want to fully have everything worked out. I'm sure they worked with retailers and their supply chains to set an appropriate date as late as possible to satisfy as many as possible at launch....and satisfy "THIS GUY" as well.
It had to be November, they simply couldn't launch the PS4 after the holidays. Really happy with nov 15th.
My job is gonna get a TON of call-outs that day...Schools will have absentee kids, it'll be mass chaos.
Oh man, I'm developing a heart condition. Whenever I see a thread title including the words Sony, PS4, and release, the word delay pops in my head automatically.

My B-Day is on the 16th!
It will be the best present I've ever got for myself.
