Yeah....I really suck at flying a plane. :(
Yeah....I really suck at flying a plane. :(
planes are easy enough, helicopters are more tricky in my opinion. the camera doesn't stay behind the tail as it did previous times, but moves from side to side, when making the slightest turn.
what does make it more tricky when flying planes, is that there is no way of knowing how much power being used. there should be an on screen gauge showing throttle %. quite a few times I have nearly stalled out of the sky by lowering the throttle coming into land.
I've yet to get my hands on a helicopter. But the bit I did fly a plane, it was a lot easier then I had expected. I was actually able to land the thing.
Normally it's been the other way around, but this time I found that flying planes is a lot easier than a helicopter.
I was trying the time trial for the flying school with a chopper and whenever I try to fly forwards, the helicopter always heads downwards too, so I have to keep readjusting and therefore end up failing the time trial.
It is annoying, considering it was always a lot easier to maintain and fly a helicopter in the previous games.
I take to flying in games fairly easily so not really any problems here.
The helicopters however tend to sway from side to side a lot, I put it down to strong cross winds!! If you get the chance have a play with the CargoBob (twin rotor heli), it's great fun picking up all manor of vehicles and dropping them on fast moving traffic.
You can even pick up the big rigs, although the trailer generally falls off, it is a bit of unwieldy beast at the best of times, when carrying somethig heavy it's quite a task to keep it in the air.
The planes are pretty easy, the first time I flew one though I wasn't expecting to get turbulence and that threw me for a second or 2!
Yeah, the planes are fairly easy.
The choppers tho... ****!
I'll have to get in a helicopter soon and see how i fare.
Nope, i treat like i did in GTA IV
Planes were pretty easy from the start, but the helicopter took a while to master. Could only get silver on both helicopter challenges, but after skipping them then playing through the game I finally went back and got them both on the first try.
Choppers seem harder and more fragile to control. Planes can get hard if you're flying low and there's turbulence, which I absolutely love about the flying in this game, the turbulence effects. Makes it so much more real.
I am decent and improving. Not having any problems at all.
I have no problems flying planes. Haven't gotten my hands on a chopper though.
These plane school is doing my nut in atm lol the 3rd 1 that says turn the plane upside down for 7secs which im doing but there isn't any response after iv done it :/ 1 roll then 3 rolls then upside down but nothing is happening after doing the upside down move.
im even missing the time & red bar on the right screen it isn't there!!
Flying the plane for the weapons drop off was and still is a pain, choppers are a lot easier to fly in my opinion
i agree, planes are really hard to handle at certain points. But i am going the hang of things
Honestly, I thought they were too easy, as was the final flight school mission that involved doing "tricks" in the plane. I was expecting having to do at least one knife between buildings and fly upside down under a bridge. Helicopters, though... that's my weakness.
helis are so bad in this game..no matter what you do, they keep swinging around.
the planes aren't that bad. just the first one was a little wonky but then you get used to it. there are better/easier planes. also your skill will go up. so don't worry.
I know that my friend... But since we have had only Choppers and no planes in the last GTA game, it has been awhile
Last night I had a riot in the fighter jet!
I have one stored in Michaels hangar and decided to take it on a bit of a rampage starting with the military air base!
I did some dog fighting with their fighters, shot down a few CargoBobs and cargo planes all with missiles being fired at me, about 10 minutes after shockingly surviving the onslaught from the base I decided to do a bit of strafing of police and other authorities down the highways of Blaine County and taking out the odd helicopter that got in my way!
Soon after I climbed to a high altitude to lose the 5 stars, but came across a passenger liner, a hefty 747, after a moral dispute with myself I targetted it (the missiles locked) and opened fire, it went down in a bit of a spin after losing several wing parts.
I must admit I felt a tiny bit bad at seeing a plane with a potential 400 passengers careering out of control and called it a day taking the jet back to Michaels hanger without so much as a bullet hole!!
you know, that reminds me...usually, i don't give a **** how gruesome something is. the more the better for me but there was this particular missions where a person is getting tortured...and it was probably the most believable painful scene i have ever experienced. i felt bad for the person...it was a bit excessive but they wanted to show you that the real world isn't necessarily about torturing the bad guys, it is about torturing to get the info you need.
i usually never get disgusted or upset...but this one pushed my limits...i have not missed a single game in the past that wasn't full of gore. this part sort of tested my limits.
