I got the PS3 just because I was single, just moved out on my own and the PS2 was so influential to me.
I think the first game I got with it was Folklore, Guitar hero (maybe?), and I think Oblivion.

Just like I kept my PS2 for games like FFX, XII, Castlevanias, etc I will DEF keep my PS3 for games like Oblivion, Skyrim, etc. Not to mention, I can at the very least use it to outfit one more room...
