That is quite literally impossible. If there is 4GB of update data available, then you will need to download 4GB of update data, regardless of whether or not it's packed in 1, or 8 different files....
The multiple updates is a good thing, not bad. If every time a small update came along, users had to download 1 big large update that includes all previous updates, you would have people downloading...
