I had one revolver with explosive damage and some nice scope zoom. The damage was extreme (played with Mordecai & gunslinger skill), things just flew all over the place.

Well you didn't actually have that much freedom in the first one to be honest. You just followed your questline pretty straight forward. But the RPG elements with skillpoints and the elemental damage...
