A quick question, does the ps3 slim bluray drive have certain gears purley for bluray disks? (it has 2 lasers)

Apparently the playing of blurays got worse and worse till they didnt work, it plays...

My SLIM ps3 did this too the other day, it crashed whilst on youtube, (very rare, but somthing about streaming and multiple tabs), anyway, it crashed, i turned it of, (had to hold the button), and...

After a little bit of thought I believe that it also has a GPU problem, reasons being that;
HDMI doesn't work
Blank screen most time,
Few seconds of life follewed by freezing/pixalating when it...

Let me re-explain a little clearer and less rushed...

My friend gave me his old ps3 that he has not used in ages since he corrupted it by turning it of during a system update.
