haha, completely unrealistic though. Where would you put that thing let alone put a disc into it.

It actually evens out. Xbox. It's a box. 360 degrees. Round. Which would equal to whatever they want it to be. Okay, I'm just talking crap.

That looks tite and all but it creates some problems sometimes. Like where would you put it? Plus the glass could get a crack in it or get scratched. You could see a scratch in a glass more than you could see it on plastic.

sweet concept although i would wonder what its made out of.. glass or what cause then youd have to worry about people breaking it and shit.. and it seems to small to be able to fit EVERYTHING into it.

It's a fine looking little toy, completly unpractical, but i do like the whole center pushing out thing. I mean, if i could also use it as a basketball, or if it hovered around me like a little robot, always waiting for me to play with it, THEN i would like it (especially if i could program it to follow OTHER people and creep them out)

Alas, this i doubt greatly (for now)

i think the Microsoft Game Sphere would be a more appropriate name for this concept.

and does anyone notice that it looks like 321 guilty spark?

Sony: PS3 OS Wasn't Final at TGS

The PlayStation 3 operating system used at the Tokyo Game Show was apparently not final. Sony confirmed to GameDaily BIZ that the company has been in the process of finalizing it and that just like the Wii's OS, it will be upgradeable in the future. More within...

Last week when the news broke regarding the PlayStation 3's technical and overheating problems at TGS, one of GameDaily BIZ's industry sources indicated that the PS3's operating system was not final at the Tokyo Game Show and that that may have led to certain glitches that players experienced at the event.

As it turns out, our source was correct (about the state of the OS) as SCEA has confirmed to us that the OS used in the PS3s at the show were not final. In fact, the OS may still be in the process of being finalized currently and it can be "flashed" into the machine at any time, even after all the other hardware components are made. It's likely that it's being refined up to the point that Sony is actually ready to put the consoles in boxes for retail.

We were told that this should not affect PS3 production whatsoever. Moreover, SCEA does not believe that the state of the OS at TGS had anything to do with the system resets or other glitches that some witnessed. Sony reiterated that it was the confined cases and other unfriendly trade show conditions that caused problems with the consoles.

In addition, Sony said it has the capability to upgrade the PS3's OS after the console launches through its online network, memory stick files or Blu-ray discs. It was revealed recently that Nintendo's Wii will also have this capability. The multipart Iwata Asks interview on Nintendo's website states, "Wii is the first system from Nintendo that we can continue to be involved in (via operating system updates) after the customer buys it. This means that Wii will greatly expand and diversify the ways in which people will enjoy games in the future."

Both Sony's and Nintendo's OS updates sound quite similar to the Xbox 360 dashboard updates that Microsoft has been providing. Technically we're not sure if Microsoft's updates are actually for the 360's OS, but the premise is the same—to introduce new features to the console.
