reset my router and need ports again

i had my ports forwarded on my ps3 and i reset my router. Does anyone have the list of ports to forward? do i even need to forward ports if I have the DMZ enabled? It gave me NAT type 2 with only the dmz enabled but im worried about the security. can i disable the DMZ and have th ports forwarded only? thanks

You can do just the ports if you want to, but I'm not really sure why you'd be worried about security to your Playstation. I would never use a PC as the DMZ host, but what could anyone do to your playstation? Put in a virus that makes you grenade yourself in Warhawk?

There's just not really anything to worry about. I have always used DMZ for PS2, xbox, and PS3 so I am not sure what the ports are for PS3. All I know is that you really don't need to worry about DMZing your game system.

Ok so the DMZ only opens the playstation up to the outside then? I guess I thoguht that it opened up the router and everythign that was connected to it but I guess its only what is on that Static Ip right? SO in that case the ps3.

This whole port forwarding thing confuses me... I have a netgear router and cant seem to get this to work for NAT 3.

Yep, the DMZ host option will open all ports to whatever IP you specify. I can see why you would have thought that though, because for months after I got my router I refused to put my PS2 as the DMZ host. Then someone told me I was crazy and ever since I've DMZ'd my game consoles

Well thanks a ton for informing me man. I appreciate that. I have it set on DMZ enabled noe with my static ip its so much easier. Cheers!
