Does Half-Life storyline make any sense?

Phew. I just played through the Orange Box. So, does the complete Half-Life storyline make any sense? Not to me it doesn't. Seeing how episode 3 might come, it's not fair to judge it as incomprehensible MTFCK. This far, nothing makes sense. G-man is pulling the string I presume, but that's it? Have I missed something?

But it makes sense to me since I've been around since the first HL and read up on it. IT may seem a little strange but everything should come together in the end and all that jazz...

I'm dying to know what or who Gman is. I've played the first Half-Life too ofcourse, I'm not that young. It is also far superior to HL2, but that's entirely different discussion. Xen-leader alien supposedly was just a puppet for Compound maybe? But why the heck all the vortigans suddenly are Gordons friends now, in HL1 they were all over the place trying to kill him! I really need to read on that page you provided CTE...

Let me first apologize for the randomness of this post seeing as I havnt read any of yours (I just scrolled to the bottom to avoid spoilers). By the way, to the thread creator, you might want to think about putting "SPOILERS" in your thread title, just some friendly advice.

I've played through about 1/4 of the new half life and already I'm bored to death. It's the same engine, same graphics, same noises when I pick things up/get health, and as a result, feels like the same darn game with different scenery. What do I feel like I'm playing? I feel like I'm playing a MOD not a SEQUAL. Thats my big point here.

On another note, I've totaly lost interest. Gordon destroyed the tower in the first one, great, now let all the little people rebuild their lost world...this whole vortex thing...its just not a fun storyline. It just seems like extra work to me with little to no thought backing the plot line.

In short, if Half-Life wants to compete with newer titles and what would appear to be a more competitive gaming market, they better get on the ball fast before they end up like pong.
