Is this true about pc games?

Is it true that pc games take up more memory than normal computer use like ALOT more? I never got into pc games cuz i was afraid that my memory would be shot in a short amount of time.

PC games take up a little more memory then consoles do however it all depends on the res and type of game. It's hard to say.

As long as you have at least 1gb of ram you're fine.
Alot of games requirements say 'need 512mb' but then it always says recommends 1gb.
So yes, the more ram the better. My motherboard can take up to 3gb, so I plan on taking out the two 512's I have in it and maxing it out with 3 1gb.

You need a decent computer to play games using it, but having some amazingly high end system isn't a prerequisite to play most modern games (although that might be slowly changing).

3gb of RAM might be overdoing it though. I doubt that anything requires that much, or can even support settings at a level which would max that out. By the time games need that much, RAM will be a lot cheaper and it won't have been worth it. What kind of CPU do you have? If it's not really good, it'll definately limit the performance of your RAM in games. Still, if you want that much it's up to you I guess.

Actually PC games use more RAM than consoles. To get San Andreas to play just as good as its PS2 and Xbox counterparts it will need atleast 512 MB of RAM.

Are you sure the graphics settings matched up?

I don't think there really is a way to tell for sure.

Diffrence between consoles and PC's is that PC's have background tasks, get rid of them and expect a much more speedyer computer!
