    Need help with Power Supply

I just bought a motherboard/cpu combo. It's a 3ghz P4, I hook it all up and everything and then the fan turns on and hard drive spins up, but it never runs a POST. I suspect it might be inadequate power supply, but I'm not sure, I think the one I'm using is a generic 350 watt. I need a geek!

Well, normally 350 watt is enough for that system, but can you give me all your specs? Plus I'd like to know how much power does your power supply gives at 12-ampère?

The reason I'm asking is because I looked in the product reviews and many people were mentioning that you need a different kind of power supply for the Pentium 4, but no one mentioned the type or any links to products.

Make sure you have your 3v 4-pin connecter next to the processor plugged in
    Or it wont work.

This is strange, I unplug my PCI-Network card, and it boots up no problem. I plug it in, and it never goes to POST. Very strange, I guess I need a bigger PSU.

Kudos to you my friend, that looks good for my setup. I usually don't shop at newegg because they are generally more expensive then most online shops. But thanks for the model suggestion.

Normally that mean's or mobo has 1 positive and negative touching, good thing you didn't have alot of amps or you would have fryed the board, but if your mobo is new you should get your money back, because its a factory defect.

were you using a d-link ethernet card or smc ?

    very good psu's( I own) : pricey: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817703003
