I haven't even used the ting since I put custom firware in and then it was only 3.4 someting or other, now wit 3.72 or whaever silly number were upto now I just can't decide if I upgrade the ting legit or keep it as it is.
I don't want to add the lastest custom firmware, too much effort and hasse.
All the freebie games I have are crap and old and I don't play them and I'm hapy enoug to buy games from sops these days.
Do I do it or just leave it.

If I was you, thinking of keeping it original and no custom I would definitely exchange it at a shop with the Slim one and keep it with an original firmware.
Since the Slim loads games from UMDs faster and this will benefit you.
Plus more battery life, brighter screen, a bit smaller, more comfortable, more lightweight and more RAM for the browser.
That if I was you.. As me, I find it difficult to say goodbye to custom firmwares.
That means I would have to forget my psp keyboard, MSN, mIRC, Monkey Island 3 and the rest of Scummvm games and movies with insane quality and bitrate. And oh so many more..

I might have to buy a slim as I can't update the formware, it downloads but says nothing is inserted when I try and install it.

Listen, There is always a way to get your psp back to original firmware you can even get ur psp to 1.50 using pandoras battery the instructions can be found here!
But if ur not the type of person who likes doing the hacker stuff then the best option is to trade your PSP for a slim one. Hope this helps!Solid Snake: A strong man doesn't need to read the future, he makes his own.Solid Snake:I'm no hero.Never was.Never will be.

If you are happy to buy the games. Upgrade to official firmware. Atleast you are almost guaranteed no faulty software and if it does fault, you can claim it under warranty. If you ring up Sony and say, i have custom firmware, there is no chance of you getting a working PSP.
