Enough that I've decided to refrain from purchasing ANY other console until they are all sub-$200.00.
Besides that, and coupled with the '08 lineup(after Q1, anyway), I've also decided that my machine is more than enough to satisfy me until that happens, which will more than likely be in another 2 years anyway."My strategy has to be tragedy, catastrophe, and after this you'll call me your majesty..."

I don't even want to sit here and add up how much I've spent. I have a 60 GB I got on launch and 16 games, not even including PSN downloadable games.

ooo I didn't include the updated TV. However I was going to do that anyway and so I'll not include that into the mix.
Here's the thing though. If you get a PS3 with all this very cool Hi-Def and Hi-fidelity support then you really should try and get the most out of it (otherwise you only get half the benefit of the technology it includes). If you've never listened to lossless or uncompressed audio through some good speakers yet from your PS3 then you are going to be blown away the first time you do!

PS3: $600
HDTV: $580
Extra controller: $49
HDMI Cable: $20
RFOM: $59
NHL08: $65
COD4: $55
That's not the exact prices I paid, but around that all toghether just for the PS3.
600+580+49+20+59+65+55= $1428
Whoa.... that's alot of money. It's mainly the PS3 and TV that cost me.

When I think about it, I feel bad for the people who bought them on Ebay for ridiculously high prices.
*EDIT*
Then again..if you've got that kind of money to burn, then you're probably better off than I am.

In Europe that really didn't happen. Because the stocks never depleted there were always plenty at normal retail price in the outlets. I think in fact there were some on ebay that ended up going cheaper because people had bought up several in an attempt to sell for a stupid amount and it backfired somewhat.
Not sure what happened at the US launch.

This is going to come out wrong, but for some of you, you realize with all of that money you spent, you could have gotten a REALLY nice vacation or gotten your girlfriend or mom something nice that she really deserves.
A lot of my money goes towards gaming, but I do realize that there are OTHER things worth spending (or saving) my money for. Now, I have a lot of money and come from a family with a good amount of cash, but looking at some of these numbers, makes me questions the priorities of some people...But hey....do what you wish.
