So I am the greatest brother/son alive. Not only am I dashing and clever but I am also very generous. I am buying my Dad and brother (who still live together) a 80GB PS3 for Christmas.
My dad is a total technology junkie. He has every toy except a high def dvd player. My brother is casual gamer that most recentlygets his rocks off on a PSP, XBOX, and the good ole PS2.
I already bought a really nice HDMI cable and the system comes with motorstorm but I want to also get at least one game and one movie to really showcase the hardware.
What are your suggestions? I was thinking Uncharted and Pirates 3: At World's End.

Your choices are good. I don't know what kind of games your dad and bro like, but as an alternative, I'll recommend COD4.

You can show off the power of the ps3 by giving them COD4 or Uncharted two of the best looking console games to date.
as for Blu-ray movies there is Rush Hour 3 on , the Simpsons movie, and the Kingdom.

games... I'd go with COD4 or Uncharted... Rachet is beautiful and also fun but it's a little bit arcade so some poopoo it thinking it's for kids. For mulitplayer I also love warhawk. It has split screen and online unlike UT3 which has no splitscreen. If anyone in the family is an F1 fan then F1CE might be a good idea but you already have a fantastic racing game included in the bundle... Fifa is probably the best sports game (NBA is ok but avoid Madden until they get the frame rate ironed out) but I'm Canadian so I have put a shout out and say I enjoy NHL2K8. Movies... 'demo' quality blurays are the 2 pixar films, the second Pirates movie or Corpse Bride. All of these are flawless and with a good tv they look better at home than they did in the theater. They are all spectacular and you wouldn't be dissapointed with any of these titles. I've wow'd a few people with the Planet Earth Series. What is good in that series is REALLY good but it has some problems with using lower quality footage here and there in the edit so I wouldn't call it a demo disk.
Hope that helps.Numbers can be made to lie... they're weak willed and easily manipulated!

Uncharted is a very good choice for a game, as for a Blu-Ray I would go with Casino Royale, Kingdom of Heaven, or 300

If by really nice HDMI cable you mean costs more than $15 take it back. Too many people spending $50-$100 for a cable that transport a data stream and costs $2 to manufacture. It's not like component video where when you have EM interference you get a worse image. With HDMI it either is good enough to care the data w/o loss, or it's not gonna work at all.
I have 5 HDMI cables all from Monoprice.com that I paid $4 each for to hook up TV to HDMI switch ($40) to 2 DVRS, 1 HD-DVD, 1-PS3
That said, Uncharted seems great from the Demo and has great reviews. While Pirates has had less than stellar reviews.
Some great demo's I've tried include Ratchet and Clank: ToD, Heavenly Sword (But my understanding is it can be played from beginning to end in under 6hrs so may want to think about renting it), and Resistance.
I've also seen great reviews on Assassin's Creed, Star Wars: Complete Saga, and Ridge Racer 7 which is why they're sitting under the Xmas tree right now. NFS: Carbon is there because I got it cheap, and The Bee Movie is for my 5yr old son.

Planet Earth should be a top pick for BD if you think they would like that sort of thing.

I'm gonna have to say 300 for the movie. The game would be tough unless there I knew more of their likes and such. Though AC, CoD4, R&C.

He likes racing games and shooters. I think I am going to go with Uncharted for sure since it is exclusive to PS3 ....and it is **** sexy looking.
I guess I am really looking for the "wow" factor when it comes to games and the movies. Evceryone is mentioning awesome moives but I would like to buy one that really shows off the features that blue ray has over the standrad DVD.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
