I'm a fan of Star Wars, and the Riddick series. But I'm not a die-hard sci-fi guy, but I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on good sci-fi movies to check out if I like those titles.

If your after sci-fi like that you should check out The Fifth Element & Serenity, both are really good action/sci-fi
Star Ship Troopers was ok, but you sort of had to understand the book if you want to get what its about. The movie is fine on its own as a sci-fi gore flick, but its meant to be more of a political satire.
The Alien Series is always fun, but thats more in sci-fi horror, along with Event Horizen.

Star ship troopers was so bad, i couldnt watch it until the end. Star Wars is the #1, also the Fifth Element was a good movie too.
