List of HD Enhanced PS2 games

The list is huge, I found it on Wikipedia today.

You have to press triangle and X after the PS2 logo appears while the game is loading, some games have it in the options too. Not many 720p or 1080i games mostly 480p.

I tried to copy it into the post but it was all jumbled
    Enjoy!

I know that God of War II had an option to increase the resolution.

Haha It trips me out that Spongebob has 1080i... What the heck man... Of all the games..

I think it's hilarious that the Spongebob Bikini Bottom game has the highest resolution and widescreen options.

I thought this is what the upscaling option did when playing PS2 games?

Unless you're talking about playing on a PS2... which doesn't make all that much sense since there isn't an output for it. Unless AV out can fit/carry a signal with component cables. In that case I'm there there's a cable out there.

Yeah, I agree... I am pretty sure the Upscaling feature does this automatically.

Even with Component cables, PS2 games still looks very crappy on a HDTV. PS2 should always be used for SDTVs. They look best on those TVs. I played NFS underground 2 on my HDTV using my original PS2 and the graphics are so freaking crappy, even though it is enhanced. Not playing PS2 anywhere besides on my SDTV.

PS2 games look fine being playing on an HDTV through your PS3 though. Upscaling and Smoothing works very well.

But yes, output from a PS2 on an HDTV does not look that nice.

I do believe Beyond Good and Evil has 16:9 support.

I only own 2 ps2 games and both look decent on my tv through my ps3. I wouldn't call it a joke. You can only doctor a resolution up so much. I have atv off road fury 4 and devil may cry 2.

Maybe you've just been playing too many 360/PS3 games lately and your sense of what games were like has dropped down a little.

I was playing DDR SuperNova (lol bad example), Soul Calibur 2, and Star Ocean 2 and they all looked fine. Definitely not worse than they'd look on a PS2/PS1 on a standard TV.

Oh nice. I didn't know that Sonic Mega Collection or King of Fighters XI would go into progressive scan.

    Achievements IT'S OVER 9000!
I always thought progressive scan mode in PAL titles was a lost cause, shifting from 576i to 480p doesn't really have the same impact as it does on NTSC TV's
the picture does looks more solid, but progressive or not
it's not as sharp or detailed as the standard PAL 576i picture

I'm playing my Ps2 games on my HDTV right now through the component cables you can buy, and if the game has the option for progressive scan then it looks not bad (really, games like Black and Burnout revenge look awsome in HD even if it's from a PS2).
But if the game doesn't has progressive scan then it does look like junk, still, these cables are worth the 30$ and they'll be good enough till I deside to upgrade.

The largest improvement for PS2 upscaling comes from the multitude of JPN 2D RPGs that are available and still being released, imho. The more complex 3D games don't see as much of a boost in image improvement i think.

I wouldn't say that at all, check out Gran Turismo 4 with a native 1080i resolution, if you have component that is.
