Aquilani on, it's all over, sorry

And if not for a poor finish he sets up what in all likelihood would have been the winner. Hope you didn't think I was joking lol, I think he's their assists leader. So sad we let him go..Last edited by Shibby; 03-06-2012 at 21:21.

Sticking on Chamakh and Park was just throwing everything at them. There's a reason that those two don't make the starting line-up.
Anyway, one goal short but it was pretty much an all-round committed performance from the Arsenal tonight, and I can't very much fault them.
In the second half they seemed to take their foot off the gas, but that looked due to them being tired out.
The only thing I can fault of them is playing so badly in the first leg, and misplacing a few passes here and there tonight. Sure, the Van Persie miss was pretty bad considering the form he's been in this season, but he's only human and a human can't always be perfect.
I'm really pleased with the way that Rosicky has come along recently; I was only criticising his goalscoring record the other week.
It was a hell of an effort tonight. Although they were so close, it was a heck of an ask so this knockout tonight shouldn't sting too much I'd say.
Love the Arsenal.

Put on a great performance tonight, on the back of some great league form. Really proud of how the players have responded to the result in San Siro and the FA cup result
There's a ton of positives to take out of the game and in the end I think it was just tired legs that cost us. In actual fact, it was the first leg result that cost us, but you know what I mean
I feel really refreshed though. There's a lot to take away and the reaction of the team and the way we're playing is a stark contrast to the kind of form we showed last season after losing the Carling Cup
Agree with DangerousMali in that the squad needs a seeing to in the summer, but, that has been obvious for a lot of the season - Hope Wenger acts on it

Absolutely loving Rozza at the moment, have always loved the guy and was always baffled when he was benched in favour of Ramsey in all those games earlier in the season

Great performance, unlucky you did not get a forth.
At the same time lucky AC did not wear their shooting boots, they could have bagged at-least 2.
Either way, you guys( sorry )were expected to be knocked out and even though you did, at-least you put up a very very good fight. This is how a team plays...

He's a great talent to see play in person, isn't he?
He played really well again tonight, and I agreed with the pundits in the Sky Sports studio that he can't really be held back, but then with a young player [for me] it would always be a worry playing a young player too much after the way Michael Owen has turned out, and as the moment, Jack Wilshere is looking that way, but hopefully not in the long-term.
I'd love it if he went to the Euros, and I think he'd be great!

tremendously proud of everyone! I've never seen a team play with so much guts. Song, Koscielny, Szczesny, Ox, Walcott, Rosicky were all immense. I've never seen us challenge for every ball so hard before. very inspiring. If we get most of our players healthy and come out every game with even a portion of this effort then I think we'll be well off. I dont think we need that many new players, but we do need to add up top; and not forward wingers but central strikers. When Park and Chamakh came on they were absent. I'm sure that miss is killing RVP right now. In this case i wish he was a duller player who would have just would have powered it into the net.

This thread's most famous non-Arsenal player Jan Vertonghen was watching the match in London! He must have loved the atmosphere. If he can't come here I hope he doesn't go to Liverpool or Sp*rs or any of our competitors really.
The game was brilliant! What an exciting game to watch. Shame that we didn't grab the 4th goal but what we needed to do is to show that given a proper pitch which is not directly set up against Arsenal..we'd wipe the floor with them. (you could see we used the wing's today a lot)
Still remember beating them in San Siro with Fabregas...
Also I am convinced now that the only person who can manage Arsenal after Wenger retires is Jurgen Klopp. Beautiful football, talent is spotting youth and handling them and a great personality as a manager. But of course this is IF he retires... and we all know Arsene chooses himself when he wants to do that.

Arsenal were awesome last night. If they take the positives from that performance and apply it to the league there is no reason why they can't finish 4th or even 3rd!

I'm proud that Arsenal is an English club and a least gave it everything. Once the hour mark hit the team looked exhausted, which is expected after such a high tempo first half. Shame Ox got injured so early he looks a quality player and was dominating that midfield, kinda jealous but thankful he's English.

Apparently you're signing Podolski in the summer for 10m pounds. Bargain.
But would this be a replacement for RVP or just an additional striker.
