Now rumours are saying that the £30M bid is for Mario Götze of Dortmund, as he apparently has a release fee clause in his contract. I still can't believe that. Although apparently we actually did make a legitimate bid for him a few years ago.

Yep! Unless the release fee thing is true, I can't see why Jurgen Klopp would want to sell him at all. He has a really good set-up at Dortmund, with a few more good, young players. But if we did actually sign him, I certainly wouldn't be complaining!

Aye! I couldn't believe that City were apparently contemplating buying either Hummels or Subotic if they never got Komany's red card overturned. They would have taken great looking defenders and just used them as fringe players. It would have been awful!

About Coq - I'll be honest that I didn't really notice him, because I was alternating between the match and Football Manager during the second half, but for me, he's never been consistent. If he were to start the next game I'd be extremely surprised if he were to put in a very good performance; but then I'm just a geezer with an opinion.

Still not convinced we'll get him, but the fact that Cavani is apparently the player we are linked to, that is something to get remotely excited about, compared to the mediocre players we've previously signed.

Now the word is that because Napoli are doing so well in the league that they'd only let him go for double his value. So if they actually valued him at £30 million, he won't go for anything less than £60 million.
And now (because they feel like it), apparently the big bid was for Luka Modric. If that is indeed true, why the fuck would we need him!? We have Cazorla and Wilshere, and unless Jack gets injured again, there is no reason not to play him. He's got back into his form and he can only get better all around this season - he's showing great grit, determination and leadership!

It's probably all a smokescreen in the end; we won't sign anyone of worth.

I wouldn't talk about any more rumors because none of the talk has been credible with the exception of Walcott re-signing. Im expecting that by the end of this weekend. If not, im going to be annoyed that someone is continuing to drag this out. I personally dont care much for the January transfer window anyway. I care more about our lack of chemistry than our players.

I havent heard anything definitive on salary yet, only a 3m bonus. I think Poldi is still our highest.

well he's probably on at least 90k a week, bbc Ornstein dude suggested 100k on his twitter. Honestly, he's not worth close to that much a week, never. However, we have to stop giving the idea we're a selling club and hold onto our "best" players.

Then again it's not really in our interest as fans to fret over 10-20k/week, we're very rich regarding cash in hand so. He's getting overpaid but at least he can have an impact on our first team (and gets even more consistent) unlike other relatively overpaid players we have in our squad that we have no choice but to send out on loan or wait till their contract is run down

all in all good news. I hope this won't take away any chance of signing a player or two in the window

Aye. When I heard it was 2-0 so early yesterday I thought we were in for a raping. I suppose the fact that they didn't get anymore is somewhat good, but it's still not good enough since we bloody lost.
I only saw highlights but I heard we were so terrible in the first half. By the time we kicked into gear it was too late.

I just don't get why he always regurtitates the same old crap after games. Do something about it? The fact that we came out a better team in the 2nd half against both city and chelsea means that maybe it's just a bit of inspiration, morale boosting talk that is needed from the appropriate people? The kind that seemingly comes out only when we're being buried. Obviously I am speculating

I appreciate that our players didn't begin hiding after being outplayed by Chelsea in the first half, cos we smashed them 2nd half tbf. I think we just need to prepare for games better

@Cyn - Same. Before the Chelsea game I was pretty excited though cos it was the same team as against Swansea. Too bad :/
