Australian and New Zealand 360 launch delayed

Microsoft Australia have officially confirmed that the Xbox 360 has been delayed until 12:01am on Thursday the 23rd of March, 2006. The reason given was a lack of supply. We'll have more information on the delay as soon as it becomes available. The New Zealand launch has also been delayed.

Well F*** is all I can say. Yep once again we aussies get royally skrewed with release dates. *sigh* no point complaining though since thier's nothing we can do.

It's better that they launch there with a million+ units then only 300k like in the US. I think these shortages may hurt sales even when there are plenty of 360s for everyone. It's plain that consumers have been let down by the marketing hype because they can't buy one. We'll see if Sony and Nintendo can avoid this.

Then again, there's no better phone call than, "Your console has arrived!"

Indeed, there are a LOT of great games coming between now and then hopefully there should be a nice little portfolio by launch.

I'm upset but perhaps some things have improved since them.

MS were thinking of putting in an HD-DVD drive later on, and maybe there'll be a black 360 by then, and bigger Hard Drives. And there will definately be more games by then, I guess it's not that bad. But if the PS3 is going to be released any less than a month after I won't be bothering with Xbox that's for sure.

MS can't even produce of the 1st console to go and change the colour this early in the race.
PS3 won't come down under till 2007 at the earliest so plenty of time to enjoy a 360 til then.
