Microsoft to buy Yahoo for how much?

    $45 billion ka-jiggers!

    The details: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080201/...ahoo_antitrust

    Thats alot of money!
I don't like the move myself as I'm very fond of Yahoo mail over Hotmail, I also use the yahoo sports sites. Lets hope they don't change it too much

Cheers! and don't shoot the messenger

I read this this morning and all i can think of was how much its going to suck. I mean for one what do you think is going to happen?

Obviously microsoft is going to take over yahoo and market their own crap in it. Meaning instead of yahoo mail which is what i use everyday will become hotmail, not directly but it will, and i never touch my hotmail. MSN messenger isnt that bad so thats the only good side to this.

Not only that but microsoft is going to mess with everything and people dont realise how big yahoo really is until this happens. If they do be sell outs i really hope microsoft doesnt screw it up and just let google walk on by un touched, at least yahoo is doing something.

I've used Gmail for the last 3 years (since it was invitation only), it kicks all other email services ass - don't believe me? I dare you to try it.

Also, for the messenger issue, use Pidgin. All my messengers and buddies are ambiguous now in one window with no ads, popups, slowdowns, bugs, and has a ton of plugins available.
