A couple of years ago there were talks of MS bringing a handheld to the market.
Well these talks are heating up again and looks like the "Xboy" may become a sad but true reality.
MS should concentrate on getting 360's on store shelves before talking about this Crap again.

If this is true, MS would have factored it in to the Vista-360 business model years ago. I doubt it would be an 'on the fly' type of decision. They also have a lot of experience in handheld device connectivity and applications/OS's, so it's not like they would be as green as first timers Sony with the PSP(firmware updates, lack of original native games) in that regard. I don't mean that as a bad thing in Sony's light they have done extremely well with PSP and have shifted games and many, many movies to the platform.
Thats the problem I see with the xPod, MS doesn't own any media intrests like a movie/music catalogue or have a proprietry disc drive to make profits from.
Nintendo has it right though, when was the last time a Nintendo handheld needed a firmware upgrade, or had a lack of original games?
If MS released a handheld that had at least a 5GB HDD, wirelessly ran a Live Arcade client, could seemlessly connect to Vista, played multiple audio and movie formats and was say$150.00 - $199.00 Australian then I might be in. Just dreaming there

01-28-2006 #7Yeah, but when was the last time Nintendo released a new handheld that wasn't just a revision of an older model besides the DS? I just hate the hand held gaming world.

and uh , why would a handheld with no interface or something like that need a firmware upgrade?? And Nintendo has always used cartridges... with cartridges you can't controll which one is illegal.
