http://www.ps3fanboy.com/2008/02/05/...xt-six-months/In an interview with Screen Play the Managing Director of Sony Electronic Entertainment Australia, Michael Ephraim, was asked to comment on the ridiculous delays between releases on the PAL/Australian PSN versus the US/Japanese PSN. Ephraim confirmed that the issue was the fact that all content needs to be localized for all the European languages (no change there, we've known that for months). "We're in an online space, it's a global community," he says.
When pressed that "digital distribution is supposed to break down geographic barriers," Ephraim responds that "there are discussions and we have identified that. We have been very vocal about it and I think you will see an improvement over the next six months on this issue." Should we take this to mean that a global online store is coming within the next half a year? Not impossible, but let's be realistic - we'll probably see European content lag become much shorter within that time frame (or, hopefully, nonexistent) rather than an entire global PSN Store.
Doesn't mean we can't cross our fingers for one, right?
I really hope they go global soon. Im getting sick of getting demos 2 or 3 weeks after the US Store.

it wont and cant go to a global one ... i cant read chinese/ japanese they often cant read english .. how would they have us all looking at the same store in that manner ???
i think they are just going to make stores all on par si what is meant by itAnything worth doing , has probably already been done by someone else !
If we are truly innocent until proven guilty , then how come we have to post bail to be free , or rot in jail until our innocence is proven in a court of law ?!??!?

Well thatīs not the case. What do they mean by localized for every country? There are not so many of them, and the only thing they have to do is translate the three sentences, and I think that one retarded monkey could have those translated in 5 mins. they donīt even have to change the currency as most of the countries use EURO, and what is more some of the countries still have NO stores. It is just bulltalk if you ask me...

so its taking 2 months for the to translate Pain into a few languages?
hope this happens though, the ps3 being region free(not just in theory) was one of my reasons for buying it

the PS3 IS region free you can import a game from any country and play it on any PS3 thats what is menat by region free .. the DL stuff has nothing to do with that
Anything worth doing , has probably already been done by someone else !

Actually everything they release in the EU PS Store(s) have to translated into at least 5 languages including demos, games, trailers etc. Although it takes much more than "5" minutes I still get very annoyed at the time it takes to do the localizing.
I think a global PS store would be great, but only if it was done correctly. they would have to have a central system translated into many languages and the ability to buy in many countries. It would be difficult. Anyway it's only a rumour at this stage so let's wait and see how this develops.|42" HD Plasma 1080P|5.1 Surround Sound|60 GB PS3|[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

That would be really nice, it would stop every one from making 6 accounts because they don't feel like waiting a little bit for a demo.

As long as the delays get cut down to some extent, I'll be happy with that. Quite ridiculous the delay now, especially between English speaking countries.

... I still don't get what you're all complaining about. A universal store would be great, but having 2 extra accounts ain't the end of the world

Sony publicly stated quite some time ago that an end to EU PSN woes were coming. I don't believe a word any more.

its not just some simple menu language option, they have to go inside the entire demo and dub them in the different languages. plus i think they have to make sure its legal for all the countries.
see thats one of the things you have to deal with while living in europe, but its a small price to pay for all the culture you guys get unlike us yanks, only culture we ever get is getting churros from taco johns.

Ehm I don't want to be rude but how does "I think you will see an improvement over the next six months on this issue" translate into a global PSN store?
A global PSN store is just wishful thinking... Would be nice though!

It makes sense to have it Global, though I think the Eastern half of the world should have their own. Like Japan, China, Korea, they should be based as Asia.
Not bein racist, it's just the langauge differences. There's gonna have to be some comprimise somewhere probably?
**** knows, I'm sure Sony figure it out after a few years of us complainin...Haven't been on here in like 2 years.. Same people still moaning.
