Now that is what i want to see!!
Great performance, Hendo again did not play too good ( again, out of position ) but pretty much everyone else was solid.
I hoper we can keep the trio ( Suarez, Gerrard and Carroll) and they start more often. Can't believe how shit we are with adam.
Hope we stay CONSISTENT!!!

The formation we played today but with Bellamy on right wing instead of Henderson is probably our best setup. Only question is if Spearing can hold his own consistently. If it were Lucas I'd have no doubts.

We need THIS Suarez. His composure in front of goal, including his penalty clinicality. It's gotta be a confidence thing.
Though I think his movement and creativity has gotten better. And he's slowly but surely getting away from the whole trying to get cheap fouls thing.

Things i noticed form that video:
He looks better at taking penalties than Gerrard!!!, really good taker but is really shit for us
He seems to get a lot more support, most of his goals were either tap ins or a little run and nicely placed in the corner, his teammates did the hard-work of getting the ball into the box and setting him up, at LFC he seems to have to do it himself since no one else is capable of being creative in the finale third, meaning not only does he have to get past a few players ( which he does) but to also score which is pretty hard after going past 3 or 4 players and losing your balance
He looks MUCH more confident on the ball,
Has players around him that support him better with higher quality passes, crosses and play
Better link up play
The ball is not as light as the one we use now

Good win. Didn't get many chances today but made the most of them, for a change. On to Wembley again! Let's make it three!

Martin Skrtel will win our player of the year hands down. He's been incredible all season long and should easily make the PFA Team of the Year but will probably be overlooked. Kompany and Skrtel are the two best central defenders in the league imo.

I agree, Skrtel has been immense after a shaky start this season. Seems to have cut out those fouls he did where he had zero chance of winning the ball.
Been working all day so missed most of the footy... no highlights on tv tonight... thanks a fuckin lot ITV you bunch of cuntys!! :@

I think the spurs game ( when we lost) was his worst game, and im sure he was out of position for that game too.
Except that he really has been a rock, defiantly one of the best in the PL, i would probably only ( just about) rate Kompany higher, n one else.
If only Agger was not as injury prone as he is...
-
03-21-2012 #7563
Yea, brilliant...
How the hell do you go form 2 nil up to losing 3-2?
Just terrible. If we make no change in the summer then another season will go on with us playing shit.

I'm not sure Hodgson would have fared any worse in the league, tbh. Thoughts?

@Nitey Hodgson did no worse than Dalglish and he didn't even have the fortune of having the new owners and money...
-

Yeah in the league there seems to be some real issues. Then again, as a whole, Carling Cup and Semis in the FA Cup is pretty good for a work in progress, which is what Liverpool are. I'm sure most their fans rather the champions league football more than that though
Or maybe not

Hodgson did relatively worse. He has us at what, 16th or something when Kenny took over? 7th is much better, Regardless of the similar point totals.
Still nowhere near good enough though. Going into the new year we had a legitimate shot at top 4. Our league record in 2012 has been abysmal. Only 2 league wins, I think. And the second half of the season is usually stronger.
We're obviously one of the best teams in the league when we look like we give a fuck. We only give a fuck in cup games and games against top teams though. Same old shit.

True. Obviously I don't watch all the 'Pool games but from the outside looking in, it doesn't look all that much better. I don't know what I'm talking about, clearly though

You could say that about all the bigger teams in the league though, but I get what you're saying. The desire/fight is hot and cold from the playersWe're obviously one of the best teams in the league when we look like we give a fuck. We only give a fuck in cup games and games against top teams though. Same old shit.

Yeah but those teams have the quality to ultimately overcome the occasional lack of fight. We stopped caring for 10 minutes, and gave up 3 goals in those 10 minutes.
I just saw the highlight of Coates' goal though. Jesus what a strike. Goal of the season contender for sure. Too bad it has to be overshadowed by the bullshit of the match.
I've already said twice that we need to start using the PL games to give some of the young players. If it wasn't the case then, it surely is now.

Man u fans just have this obsession with Liverpool and its fans, they just can't help make themselves look like pricks

Anyway, did you see that goal from Coates
Brilliant goal from the defender, contender for goal of the season!!
Too bad it will be forgotten in the mist of the defeat

Things are starting to look up, Adam is apparently out for the rest of the season.

Lol yeah I saw that. I feel bad for him, but I can't say I'm disappointed. Piece on TIA says maybe it'll give Sterling some bench time (and Shelvey some field time). Probably not tomorrow though since the U19s have a 3rd place match for the NextGen series.
Reina
Flanagan Skrtel Coates Enrique
Spearing Shelvey
Suarez Gerrard Downing
Carroll
would be my choice for tomorrowLast edited by Shibby; 03-24-2012 at 02:37.

Liverpool losing to Wigan? What is going on there?
Channel I am watching is showing Benitez highlights at Liverpool.. he never should have left really. I am glad we have the majority of our fans supporting Wenger through thick and thin instead of blindly asking for a new manager.

Serious now. I'm not even a Liverpool fan but it's obvious as day, Kenny has to go.
£100M spent. Suarez, Enrique are the two decent players you got for that. Bellamy was free.
Downing, Carroll and Adam are not good enough. And wtf does Henderson ever do?
Yeah you won a cup, but everyone knows what the real aim was this season, and Liverpool are so far off the mark it's not even funny.
