GTA4 - Don Mattrick: "Multiplayer support is unique to 360"

He states:
"[GTA4 is] an amazing piece of software and I'm really excited with it's downloadable content and online multiplayer support, again that's something unique to 360. We think consumers are going to love that and it's going to create what I would describe as the premium experience on our platform."

I myself hope it's not true, I doubt it's true as well.

Note - I read this on another forum, I myself have not viewed the thing itself. Forgive me for an errors in my post. And yes, I know it's kinda stupid to post it without viewing it myself first, but I'm in a rush and being the person I am, posted it anyways.

I listened to the interview earlier and those were his exact words. He also spoke about what he has being doing for the past 6 months, how he's prepping for 08. Also testing unannounced games. This would make a lot of gamers on the other side mad if MP was only on the 360.

If that has any weight to it, then the X360 sales will boom through the roof and the PSTriple sales will have a following but nothing special, online will make or break the game imo considering X360 will have the exclusive episodic content and achievements already and same visuals...

Be a very bold move by MS, Online multiplay GTA only on 360? cant see it myself....

Shouldn't the thread title include the fact its GTA we are talking about??

sounds to me like hes saying the old 'the only place where you can have all of these features' is the 360, not saying that multiplayer is 360 only, but that DLC+multiplayer is unique to 360, whereas ps3 doesnt get DLC, perhaps?
i think its just worded strangely.

I think Don has been misunderstood...

He means the use of GTA, Episodic exclusive content combined with XBL will be unique.

I'd like to hear the logic of anyone implying what this thread is actually implying. Otherwise please lock and delete, this is the worst rumour I've ever heard. It's like people have 2 + 2 and are trying to come out with a 5.

also he said DC and multiplayer support, i think he understand what he meant

D/L content has been confirmed as exclusive, the MP has not, while I really don't care either way because the GTA series is not one of my must haves.

The lack of MP on the PS3 would be a reather dumb move, especially with all the units that will be sold by the time the games comes out. Either MS paid Rockstar a TON of money to do that to offset the profits lost with MP on a PS3 or it simply is not true.

Yea.... people took his words out of context. He is clearly claiming that the the multiplayer experience + dlc episodic content is "unique" to the 360 not just the mp component.

microsoft are defenitly putting there money in the right pockets this gen some solid support from rockstar all multi format games are being made over 360 dev kits a huge amount of developers support nevermind the amount of space on a dvd9 disk we can multi disk are games

i personaly own all 3 consoles and i am getting no use out of my wii rare use of my ps3 but my 360 controller is only leaving my hands when i have to work to make more more for 360 games!!!
