Well done United on signing RVP! You are getting a good striker. Some United fans would have rather seen the money spent on a CM but you lost the title because City scored more goals, RVP will score goals.

Carrick is a great player, fact is every player makes mistakes. Carrick has gotten a lot of minutes this preseason for us as well so fatigue might be an issue. I really don't like these friendlies so close to the start of the season. Makes no sense at all.

he's only ever played 1 season. He'll be out for the majority of next season

The pessimist in me thinks it's Fergie announcing its his last season

The optimist in me hopes it's the club has been bought or found a way to repay the debts.

The realist in me says it's Welbecks new deal.

The curious in me wonders if it has anything to do with the "strong words" from Gill in tomorrows Manchester Evening News.

Berbatov leaving surely can't be "significant" can it?

I kid, I am sorry Arsenal have to lose a good player for us to gain one, I actually don't mind Arsenal these days and hope they have a good season finishing directly below us.

Yeah. I got a bad feeling when Howard Tweeted that. I hope it's just Welbecks contract or something. Don't need any bad news!

Arsenal we're put between a rock and a hard place. What can you do when your best player wants to leave? Only Fergie has managed to handle that in the past. They got a very good deal of money for RvP so that's something. But it'll be hard for them now to stay competitive.

Apparently the fee is £15 million with add ons, so if he is a success he will prob cost 22 million, good deal I guess.

That's a good deal for both teams I suppose. Normally you wouldn't pay that for a 29 year old with a year left on the contract. But these are special circumstances for sure. Both in rivalry and he having a career season last season.
