Clubs circle for Manchester United duo Dimitar Berbatov and Nani

Manchester United duo Dimitar Berbatov and Nani are attracting interest from European clubs.

With Danny Welbeck, Robin van Persie, Wayne Rooney and Javier Hernandez Ferguson’s main strikers, the United manager is keen to unload Dimitar Berbatov, who will be one of the club’s highest earners.

Clubs from around Europe have shown an interest in taking United’s record signing, with Fiorentina the latest.

The Italian club have brought 12 new players in during the close season but still want a leader for their forward line and have targeted Berbatov to fill that role.

Meanwhile, Nani’s Old Trafford contract stalemate has alerted potential buyers.

The Portuguese winger’s deal ends next summer but there has been no new agreement in the offing yet.

He remains one of the most saleable assets in United’s senior squad and Russian club Zenit St Petersburg are now on the case.

With Antonio Valencia and Ashley Young on the books, and Fergie keen to land Brazilian winger Lucas Moura before his move to Paris St Germain, suggests the Reds might want to cash in on Nani.

I speak Dutch, and I can tell you it is 100% true. They're saying it's the neighbourhood he grew up and still lives in. To all these people he's just a local lad from the block, and they're all over the moon because he "made it". After signing the contract he returned there briefly from Manchester, and what you're seeing is the resulting party.

Looks like the boss wants to send out a message to Rooney and Nani, much more is expected from them. Carrick still in defence is disappointing but there's nothing we can do about that. We need some defenders back from injury. Other than that it's a good line-up. Cleverley - Anderson - Kagawa should be a fluid midfield that can create enough going forward. A bit light when chasing possession but we simply have no alternative with Carrick in defence. Let's just outscore them!

It's not completely unthinkable. The fact we've been after both Hazard and Lucas could well mean we were looking for a replacement. If we sell him we need someone in though, Valencia and Young isn't enough. Kagawa could play on the left but it's not ideal. Or in a 4-5-1 we could play Welbeck there as well. I hope we're not just selling him without getting a replacement. In fact I hope we don't sell him at all. But he needs to perform better!
