with or without a hard schedule our trophy chances would not be gone without Rooney for a month, jeez, we have our ready made replacement signed this summer. With or without Rooney, we compete.

I remain unconvinced RVP, as good as he is, will be able to carry us for the season. Think we need both him and Rooney to play at their best to win the title.

Rubbish. It's a loss but one we should be able to cope with as Van Persie and Kagawa settle down more and more.

Don't forget Welbeck and Hernandez are capable of scoring plenty of goals, those 2 and RvP is a fantastic strike force for the next month without Rooney. Plus Kagawa is capable of scoring a good amount of goals.

Or maybe no one carries us, as per usual, remember the 19th title win, the season where everyone chipped in all season, reckon it could be the same. We can live without Wayne for 4 weeks, no worries guys,, good win today, result wasn't the best but attacking we were very nice.

I'd rather not ask Welbeck, Hernandez and Kagawa to bring in 30+ goals together. That's a big ask for such young players.

They're all well capable of getting 10+ goals each. Add Van Persie to that and there should be no problems. And our wingers score a few goals as well.

He's a good player but nah. I don't buy the whole 'he's world class' argument. World class players perform on the international stage, Rooney never has. Aguero is a much better player in my eyes, younger, fitter, a better finisher.

Rene Meulensteen - City's transfer policy is quick fix.

Uh-oh. Rene had a pasting off Fergie last year because he said City didn't have the mentality to win a title. I think he could be in for another one here.

Of course Rooney is world class. Can't say he's not because of international performances, Messi or Ronaldo haven't exactly had amazing international careers either, are they not world class? Going back many years, George Best also didn't have a great international career, he's still one of the best players to ever play football. He had his best goal scoring season last season then suddenly one bad game against Everton and he's no good. Next few seasons could be the best of his career. He will make any team better and that includes City.
